EXTENDING Orgeron
FIRING Wade
That is the motivation of the LSU athletic department and BOS. That tells you all you need to know about the future of LSU athletics.

People still want to beat Alabama in football? Lol not happening with this current administration. I'm an O supporter btw.

He deserves 4 mil per year. He has program in the right direction.

I dont hate it given how I expect the team to perform next year.
I pretty Much assumed he’d get at least 2 more years and this ccontract essentially guarantees it.
I would Have liked to see it get to it’s lowest point at the end of 2020 so if we want to make a decision in November/December 2020 we can. I dont Think the extra 750k is that big a sticking point if we really need to ditch him, but still.

It's still pretty average to below average in SEC.
Kind of like his coaching record.

The two year extension with a 14% increase in salary is fine.
The $10 million buyout is absurd.

There is zero demand for Ed Orgeron as a NCAA Football HC. Why are we giving him an extension?
Posted on 3/18/19 at 1:23 pm to The Pirate King
I wouldn't expect anything less from the BOS at this point. Lets hurry up and extend and raise a coach that isn't going anywhere. And leave our basketball program hanging in wind 2 days before our best team in a decade starts the tournament.
Buncha jackasses.

This makes sense buyout wise because at this point they aren’t firing him until after the 2020 season at minimum and that’s prolly with back to back 7 win seasons. If he wins 9 games in 2019, 2020 then 2021 that is when you would look at firing him anyway for only 4 mil buyout.
This year will be the year we learn Ed O’s ceiling at LSU in my opinion. Everything is in place to win so it’s time to show up.

LOL!!! What a joke, pay a guy that much money that no one else wants.

There's nothing absurd about it. The earliest the guy would be fired is Dec of 2020. That's 21 months from now, which means by that point his buy out would be about $4.8M.
and that's worst case scenario.

But I thought 2019 was the make it or break it year for O.

as long as he keeps winning I won't complain.
LSU has been winning since 2000.
So, now 10--3, 5-3 is worthy of a raise and extension.
This shite would be funny if it wasn't so fricking sad.

Don't listen to the Rant. I'm not an O supporter, but I'm not anti-O either. I'm still on the fence, but I must admit my other leg is getting closer to crossing. There's no scenario where LSU fires Ed Orgeron after this season.
Posted on 3/18/19 at 1:34 pm to Cs
It drops by a quarter mill a month.
He just finished 6th.
Next we see if he can make a run with a veteran team
2020 we see if we can actually develop QBs of our own.

Well there was, until this extension. Now O is at LSU, for better or worse, until December 2020.
