He doesn’t need a circus. He’s a stand alone clown show. And by all means, let’s blame our DC for failing to score against tGumps

I think this is more recruiting than scheme.

It is, along with depth. In Aranda's first year we had experience and depth everywhere on defense.

Defense finished

5th in scoring defense
10th in total defense
13th in rush defense
Tied for 14th in sacks per game

We did all that while being really bad in turnovers. Turnovers take the ball away from the offense better than getting to stop them 4 times. Football Statisticians base turnovers on luck and they say in a given amount of years luck balances out (we finished 11th in ints in 2018).

LSU also led the country in TDs given up during the year with 16 total. The next best was 21 total. Only three teams have up less in the past 10 years. One was Miss St last year, and the other two were obviously LSU and Bama in 2011. Like I said in a previous post, TAMU has ruined our defensive stats twice in three years now. Five of the 16 TDs we had given up were in that game. Outside of that game, they gave up 11 TDs in 12 games. That is freaking ridiculous.

So Aranda's the fall guy because one game he gave up 74 points in a 7 OT game.

But the offense has no fall guy for 19 points vs UF, 0 points vs Bama for the second time in three seasons, and numerous other pathetic showings in the past couple of years?

But Aranda's the fall guy?

This is what I'm talking about. A completely different set of standards.
The hell are you talking about? Sounds like you have an agenda Gold. Check my post history, I’ve called our Einsminger for his shortcomings, why is Aranda immune to criticism in your opinion?

He held Florida to 19?

Kentucky held them to 16, Georgia held them to 17, State held them to 13 and Mizzou held them to 17.

Aranda finished 7th in scoring defense. You complain about an average offense like we had some monster defense.

The difference between you and I is that you have an agenda and I call shite the way I see it. His unit couldn’t stop a goddamn nosebleed in College Station and we were lucky to play in a NY6 bowl after the SEVENTY FOUR points that were given up.

Stop trying to act like Aranda is some god like figure and base your argument off of facts and not emotion.

It's because this is a disingenuous argument and I don't know why you're continuing this line of argument.

Aranda seems to be held to a standard of perfection. I'm learning in this thread it's because of his pay, which makes no sense to me. Why is that he can't ever have an off-game? When does the offense ever have the defense's back? Ask yourself that. Can the offense bail the defense out one damn time? Just once?

We allowed 31 points in regulation, not great but not embarrassing to a good offense. The other 43 points that we allowed began on drives inside the damn redzone. Do I need to show you research that demonstrates the likelihood of an opposing offense scoring against a defense in the redzone? I can show you if you need it.

And you're using that as evidence that he has some major soul-searching to do? Makes no sense.

Okay cool logic. Not short sighted at all. Let’s go get Mizzous DC and see how it works out for us

That’s my entire point. Setting the standard for one obscure game is dumb.

Do you think 4th and 17 conversion and a 17 yard TD pass as time expires on the same drive, with a minute left are normal?

The defense shite the bed on the last drive

So we're saying that Aranda needs to shape up or ship out based on one drive?

When we're talking about the defense's shortcomings, we're talking about moments here and there. It doesn't compare to the disaster that's been the offense.

A coaching buddy from up north talked to Aranda, noted that he needs to evolve with the game, too many people now have tape of his years coaching.

In case anyone was wondering since it hasn’t been mentioned. It was Bob Diaco who told Dave Aranda this. 46 year old current Defensive Coordinator at Louisiana Tech. Formerly Defensive Coordinator at Cincinnati, Notre Dame, and Nebraska. Head coach for a stint at Connecticut.

but there was. I guarantee you DA expected to win when his defense took the field with less than 2 minutes on the clock and the opponent had to drive 90 yards to tie the game. So why don't LSU fans expect to win in that situation?

The truth of the matter is I've seen you talk far more about the defensive performance in the A&M game than the cumulative comments you've made about how horrible this offense has been. Why is that?

Because you ignore most of the things posted on this board you can't bitch about.

I've said 10x more about the offense than the defense, it's just comething you can't whine about.

Yes actually.

You've spent more time talking about that one drive than you've spent criticizing the offense's performance for the season.

Link?

Do you feel victimized?

Maybe you should read more threads that aren't about Orgeron :dunno; You're only reason here is to criticize the man. You ignore everything else
