According to what I read 6 of them were starters. Stopping this bleeding should be the top priority if you want real change.

We definitely need to keep those kids at home. We also need a new OC. Probably a new S&C coach too.

I hate to say it, but you don't stop the bleeding by getting shutout at home. You just hope the LA kids think they're the answer.

If every single Louisiana player on Bama was at LSU our offense would still suck.

Not really. LSU doesn't even have another instate power 5 team so it's not really like that many players are leaving compared to other areas. Coaching and having an offense with a pulse would probably be a good start. You just don't want them to go to Alabama, which is understandable.

The kicker Bulovas is from Mandeville. He was committed to play baseball at Georgia Tech for a while.

Forgot about Carter, although I wouldn't call him a starter.

I listed Devonta.

Forgot about Irv too, although he wasn't heavily recruited by LSU. I don't think LSU even offered.

You think the staff isn't already aware of this and trying to put a stop to it? O mentioned this in his post game. He recruited these guys but "got beat".

Do you think that really matters that much? Let’s say none if those kids were there and we got the majority of them instead. Saban would have gotten other kids with equal talent levels from somewhere else to fill those spots and still outplanned, outschemed, outcoached, and outplayed us with.

It would be great if we could stop or limit the amount of in state talent we lose to Bama, but bottom line is that that is only a fraction of the reason they are continually beating us.

there are as many starters on that team from Louisiana as there are from Alabama.

starters from Louisiana: Irv smith, Devonta Smith, Shyheim Carter,Buggs, and Moses

starters from Alabama: Ruggs, Cotton, Q Williams, Jennings, and Wilson

Out of those 10 players, 4 of those are big losses:
Moses
Buggs
Mathis
Allen

Moses is good, but Jacob Phillips is just as good IMO. The big losses are those dline guys.

We have receivers and DBs just as good as Smith and Carter. No loss there. We didn't recruit TE Smith and RB Bolden. I may be missing someone.

CB Eddie Smith is the other one. He came on late his senior year but we didn't offer.

Yep only a fraction of the players come from Louisiana (a significant fraction) but they could be replaced with players from Cali, Texas, Georgia, Maryland, or anywhere else in the country.

of the 48 (12 per unit including H back and nickle back) players listed on their 2 deep depth chart only 11 come from Alabama. 37 come from places other than Alabama.

The majority of our recruits has always come from Louisiana. If we could start recruiting these guys more national and make a national all star team compensate with them we could be on equal footing. We have never been able to recruit nationally like that as the bulk of players has always (always by far even when we got more from Texas than we currently do) come from Louisiana.

Alabama didn’t want any of those guys. That’s the difference.

If LSU had an exciting offensive coordinator many more might think of staying. They know Orgeron wanted a puppet for an OC and it shows.

It all starts with the coaching staff but O lied to us all and said he would hire best OC in the country.

Ranking #104 in total offense is not going to have recruits begging to come to Louisiana.
