That may be the first weekend, but I think Walker and Marceaux would flip after that.

Also, Texas lost their starting shortstop for the season. Not really germane to the thread, but it doesn't warrant it's own thread either.

ETA: It's too early to predict specific series outcomes, but I'd be very surprised if we swept Auburn. IMO, they're the 2nd best team in the West behind us.

We're very fricking deep.

And its across the roster, pitching as well, and includes experienced veterans and talented youngsters.

This is the formula to win it all. No excuses.

Undefeated national champions.

Anything less should result in LSU clearing house.

Anyone who accepts anything less is settling for mediocrity and is part of the problem.

all the pieces are there to make a run .... have to stay healthy and the bats have to stay warm.

I didn't put much stock into that. Just went for the overall record. Had to take my purple and gold glasses off, because I'm wanting to think undefeated.

Definitely. I know we say Omaha or bust pretty much every year, but this year really is that case

Prediction: Duplantis will finally get 100 hits in a season. That will vault him past Eddy Furniss for most career hits in the SEC and at LSU. He will also finish with more than 8 more hits this season than Jake Mangum, who will also break Furniss' SEC record but finish behind Duplantis for his career.

Barring any major injuries, especially to pitchers, there is no reason for anything less than the semifinals of the CWS.

Trying to be as realistic as possible. Do you think LSU really goes undefeated in midweek games?

I mean, we are throwing weekend guys just because we have so many pitchers, right?
