Loser of OSU/Mich does not stay in the top 5 only because their SOS is not comparable to the others on that list.

Michigan drops to 6 with a loss. Their best win of the year is against unranked Illinois.

How far do you think they fall?

Probably.
People screaming about the USC jump don't realize that if they jumped us after beating UCLA, imagine how we would jump after beating UGA.
Assuming that ranking is correct, and assuming the conf champs are LSU, OSU, TCU, Clemson, and USC the final 4 will be:
1. OSU
2. TCU
3. LSU
4. UGA
USC, Clemson, Tennessee will odd men out.
For what it's worth, I think TCU drops one before they play their CC game. They have been playing with fire for half the season. I think we'd have to destroy Georgia to knock them out of the playoff completely.

Reasonable guess. If this were the case, it could be LSU vs Georgia for a playoff spot.
TCU - undefeated champ in
OSU - undefeated champ in
USC - 1 loss champ likely in
LSU vs Georgia for the last spot.

You don't think GA is in regardless? Like last year vs Bama?

Like the other poster said, maybe 6 or so. They don't have any signature wins to this point.

Michigan’s best win at that point will be against Penn State who has 0 wins against ranked opponents.
Not sure how you justify keeping them that high based on their SoS.

Well they only have one more to drop... and it's Iowa State so it's not looking likely.

Man, if there are 3 (actually 4) conference champs with 1 loss, and they lack the championship? What is the objective reason to put in the team that lost their last game?
Win vs Oregon? USC will have same, but with championship.
Win vs Tennessee? LSU has beaten Alabama, but with championship.
This is IF USC and TCU win out. I could see a scenario in which Georgia drops to 5 with the loss.

Big 12 Championship against Kansas State. The same team that was beating them by 17 in the 3rd quarter and had both first and second string QBs get hurt.

You assuming Clemson loses to South Carolina? Otherwise they would be 6 heading into champ week.

I don't think so. UGA will have 1 loss with wins over a top 15 (Oregon, provided they lose to USC in the PAC 12 championship) and a top 10 (Tennessee) and a loss to a top 5 LSU.
LSU will have 2 losses, an SEC championship and wins over a top 15 in Ole Miss. a top 10 in Alabama, and a top 5 over UGA. Losses will be to a top 20 FSU and a Top 10 Tennessee.
Does the SEC Championship negate the loss to FSU or Tennessee in terms of merit over Georgia? That's the question.
This assumes that USC wins out, and Ole Miss and Tennessee win their games this week.

OU will beat USC and Pac 12 will cry again about no representation.

This idea that Georgia should be in no matter what is stupid. If they get beat in the SECCG, they should be out.
