Kid??? I would think Coach O could sell early playing time with the potential of So many current LSU D-lineman having the opportunity to leave for draft after this season.

Never sure. Bama pulls in who they want and if they really want him they will cut someone loose/process them like they always do.

I personally think he comes to LSU anyways. I think he wants to be around his brother and family. Now I'm not sure about the two WRs but I think we get this big guy.

I really like those MS DLman too. Pickering and others. We could use some elite DEs and those guys are the perfect size. Would play around 285 or so with some real speed/power combination.

Bama always tells the lowest rated guys to take a hike at the end if they can get someone better. I promise you, they are going all out for Sophser until the end. Orgeron needs to stay on his A game until the end which he has done so far.

No they convince them to take grey shirts. A couple years back they convinced a top 150 kid to take a grey shirt instead of flipping to auburn

Not speaking on where he goes, but why do you think someone of his caliber would care about the competition in his own class? This isn't the QB position. If he doesn't start year one, he'll still get heavy rotation if he's good enough.

Again I don't think it will matter in the end and of course we will have to keep after him. Orgeron isn't going to just stop recruiting him. I think his parents, brother, meat ball and Ed O all win out in the end.

Plus I think the team will come together this year with the addition of this new QB so we will land some great DLman in addition to Sophser. If we can do that and land some of these 6'5" 270lb DEs with what we already have on the roster, it would be one of the most versital and deep DLs in the country.

Then we add a couple more LBrs to play clean up behind them and the front seven would be complete. 2 deep with top 10 type players. That would be an amazing transformation considering how far behind we were not that long ago.

If Burrow can come in a be what I think he can then LSU might just get the attention of some other big time QBs on top of who is already considering us. I'm hoping one of the west coast QBs. If he stays two years or even one year and then is drafted, it would give either Myles or Lowell a year or two then be drafted. Then the other would still have another year to prove himself and be drafted as well.

The 2019 QB class would then be in our system for 3 years and our playing QBs so young dilemma is now resolved. This "could" be huge for LSU and even if he isn't the proclaimed savior, he will at least provide us with a better option and be the link we have needed to resolve this young QB dilemma we have had for years.

If he does provide the spark needed, then the perception of LSU is now completely flipped and nationwide recruiting could easily pick up steam. You can actually see it starting to pick up now. The OL from Michigan, the west coast prospects seriously considering LSU. Maybe we can steal a few top 10 recruits from AL and GA. Then also in MS, TX, FL, and try to dip into the Carolina/Virginia area's for one here or there as well. You just never know what a big time season on offense could do for LSU, considering how down we have been for years. If that changes and this guy starts slinging it all over the field, watch out.

I just have a feeling that this defense will be a very opportunistic type of defense this year so O and staff will be preaching TOs all year. This Burrow kid looks perfect for scoring in the RZ or GL type situations which has been a huge issue for LSU recently. If both of those aspects of this team is improved in 2018, we could have a very special season all of a sudden. Add to the fact that O has seemingly fixed the FG kicking problem and many of the problems we had last year is now resolved.

If you look at what our weakness was last year and we had the ability to fix them mid season, LSU wouldn't have lost but 2 maybe even 1 game in 2017 and that's with a team which was so very young.

What will the haters say if O actually is very successful from 2018 on? Boy will it be funny to see so many be soooooo wrong about this man and his decision making abilities!!! Even the Ohio State fans are giving him hella credit for recognizing then securing this young mans talents for (2) years and if it's just (1) year then that would mean that 2018 went very well for LSU.

I know this much. It's going to be a fun season in 2018 with the addition of Mr. Burrow. The kid can play the position. He see's the field, he's accurate, he can escape the pocket but also prefers to stay in the pocket until the last second. He throws with velocity when needed but also has touch when that's preferred. LSU has enough OL depth to work with. We have great WRs who
I believe just needed a spark from a competent QB. We have some great big receiving TEs but also have some balanced guys as well.

With a guy of Burrows skill set it completely opens up Steve E's playbook. He can now call plays to keep the defense on their toes instead of worrying about plays that the QB does well and focus more on destroying that defense. Rollout's, quick WR screens, post patterns deep or shallow, RPOs, draws, RB screens, curls, hitches, outs, inn's. Something I've been waiting to see is the short to internediate crossing routes, which I saw him complete with efficiency in his spring game. LSU now has Sullivan to implement these patterns or combinations specifically to confuse a college defense but simple enough to execute.

The running game will improve with a competent QB calling shots as well. You can just look and see that this guy is better than what we now have. It's not their fault, this guy has just had the coaching all those years. Our current QBs just need some time to focus on themselves and without pressure. Burrow can provide that while also providing another guy to look up to. That leadership mentality. He's not this nervous type. He's calm and confident but not cocky either. He won't get too high or too low and if I'm the LSU staff I'm letting him let it rip. Let him make his own mistakes just let him bounce back when the time comes. That defense will be plenty good to let him make some mistakes early in the year. Just come in ignore the chatter Joe and do your thing big guy. Our coaches will take good care of you my man. Just go out there and beat the brakes off of bama. That's another big time bonus for this guy. You KNOW he wants to beat bama every year he's here and he might be good enough to get that done folks. He the perfect QB bama really struggles with. He's it man. GT

We've added some stud youngsters the last couple of years, that particular piece is about 95% in-place. We'll see if 100% this year. In fact, a prediction I've kept to myself is that by the time the 2018 season is done the will be talking about our LB squad, not just White, as the best in the nation.

Keep your eye on Michael Johnson Jr. He'll be watching what CSE does with Burrow.

THIS is the most important singular thing on offense. If we take 2017 and have even close to scoring% that we normally had under Les- the perception of our offense does a complete 180. And it will affect offensive recruits.

The MSST game (not Troy) soured me, maybe permanently, on CEO. However, in a broad sense he has done a good job of recovering from mistakes; in some cases fixing it. He does do a good job of recognizing deficiencies, and in some cases fixing it. Maybe because Les would never admit things needed fixing, much less put something in place this is fools gold. But maybe not. He needs some Net Results though. I've seen lots of people who are excellent at 'putting out fires'. However, some of them are the worst about creating them. So I would say great recovery... quit putting yourself in a position to have to recover so much and then lets talk. Just my $0.02 in a macro sense.

Spot on response man!! I totally agree with everything. Look I wasn't on board with hiring O as the coach but once they did I've accepted it because I have no hate for the man. Most people on here just have pure hate for the man and won't give him a chance. It's his second season, you just can't make an accurate assessment in that short of a time period, especially for a college football HC.

LSU had major holes to fill when O took over and I don't care what anyone thinks they know. Recruiting services rankings don't mean much to me if those players aren't performing on the field and they weren't.

The OL and DL was soft. Shoot the entire front seven was soft. Even the so called 5* players couldn't take the heat, literally. The players O brought in were just much more tough than what we already had and is why you saw players dropping left and right.

The QB position was already in disarray. The WR position was weak. The strength and condition of the players weren't up to SEC or LSU standards for what ever reason. IMO O has done a good job, not great but considering that he's new to the job and gets more hate than the typical coach, putting immense pressure on the team, I think he's done a good job.

We weren't that far from a great season last year and if we had a kicker we would have won at least (2) more games. If the defense would have created more opportunities for the offense then we may have won more. Then finally if our offense would or could have scored more when they were in the RZ or GL situations, then we could have possibly been a playoff team.

That sounds like a lot but it's really not and its not like we were this senior laden team with leadership all over the place. Or we didn't have these huge holes to fill with talented but very young and inexperienced players. A year makes a huge difference and one good to great QB can make a team respond immediately. Here's to hoping for the best for my Tigers in 2018!!!

GO TIGERS!!!

Kirby Smart is laughing at this and so are student/athletes like Kevin Joseph. OH, Leonard Fournett remembers and says hi and all the other guys Bama recruited throughout recent history never ended up there. Please......

I’m hoping that Sopsher pulls a PS2 and have Bama think they are leading and then “flip” to LSU at the 11th hour.

So the game where we had like 4 healthy eligible defensive linemen soured you permanently? I think we lost a LB to an ejection that game too.
