I look at it as LSU positive. he is going out to visit schools early on and will have seen everywhere he needs to by the end of March. Wilson is tight with his parents, so I see this leading to an earlier commitment than originally thought. Also, speedy goes with him on almost every visit he takes. we all know where speedy will end up, LSU. This is not a problem.

I'm not defending the OP or anything but when he says about LSU "it's like it's the same thing they're telling me" and "there's not much new they can tell me" and he follows that with "I'm just trying to build a relationship with them. Everybody was really nice. They rolled the red carpet for me. It was really nice.", when talking about A&M, I can see people taking that as signs he wants to get away. I believe he's saying he would just like to see other parts of the country, but I can see where the chicken littles will be mistaken.

the one part of that article that struck me as odd was the fact that his dad wanted him to visit Texas.

wonder how deep his influence is. we know mom wanted LC to stay home, but then she talked about wanting the two of them to play together, then the "sparks in his eyes" about Florida.

it could shape up to be a long drawn out recruitment, hopefully the influence of playing with his friends will be too much to pass up

But just like you said, he wants him to visit. I think it's prudent that he at least see the schools that are offering him.

he is going to hold 50+ offers when its all said and done, I guess I just don't get the current appeal of Texas

I think you guys are looking into this way too much. It's too early to be concerned about it at this point. He'll probably be one of the only DEs we take in this class. So, he'll be "the" guy most likely.

Ah, the 50 posts or less guy that has inside info that recruit X will go to School other than LSU, usually Bama, but not always. I think Prom and Project P had you figured out

I should have worded that differently. I know he won't be going see everyone that offers. But despite the fact that you and I know Texas is on a steep decline, the name still holds a certain amount of cache, so kids are still going to want to visit.

what fun would recruiting be if we don't speculate a year out?

I know we are in good position with him, and I am not overly concerned. all I was saying is that with his family's past, no one should ever consider him a lock until he commits

right, thats kind of what I was getting at with his dad putting Texas on the list, and not GW himself putting them on the list
