Why was Knight benched for Mayfield?

Mayfield is better but Knight did suffer some kind of injury where he was temporarily paralyzed before his play started to suffer.

People thought Mayfield had the job locked up the year he had to sit out. It was obvious in practice as well. Now you watch the tape and you see it as fact
