Why does LSU always seem to get 5* CB, WRs, ATHs, but never any 5* O or D linemen?

LSU always seems to get the 5 star athlete, CB, WR....but teams like Bama seem to build on a foundation of strong OL and DL. Surprising that with Coach O being a defensive line coach who has coached some of the elites in the game, that he can't land elite linemen.

(PS - time to get Kevin Mawae as O-line coach. I have to think O-linemen would love to come play for a HOFer)

We are an overwhelming favorite to sign a 5 star DL in literal hours.

We get elite DL more often than elite OL. I think part of that is that there are far more in state of the former than the latter.

That’s what kills us. Top notch WR are little good if the QB has 1.5 seconds to throw.

There are significantly more 5* WR's & CBs. Also our 'backyard' talent pool is heavily skewed toward skill positions.

Louisiana rarely produces good Olinemen. We get our fair share of 5* dlinemen

Hopefully Mason Smith will change your views on the defensive side of the ball. Savion Jones is a great pick up too. No answer for the O line. Tyler Shelvin was also a 5 star.. Jacobian Guillory....

Because there are not many 5 Stars at DL and OL that come from LA HS ranks. Across the country this year for example, there are only 57 total 4 to 5 Star OL period (Center, OG, and OT) and not one from Louisiana.

DL this year has Davis a 5-star, got to sign him.

If we somehow pull off Maason Smith and Leigh, I would be in love with this class.

Maea Teuhema, Rashard Lawrence, La'el Collins, Anthony Johnson.

Didn't we get a kid that transferred after a year? Chidi or something?

Honestly there aren't a ton of 5* linemen. 247 ends up with 32 5*s at the end of the cycle i think.

The answer is LA doesn't produce any Oline talent.

My question is why? In a talent rich state in all positions but ONE, why is it oline? Can't blame it on every kid is skinny - we have more than enough dline talent.

Huh? LSU signs plenty of top level Defensive lineman. Do you ever follow the team?

Then why does Clemson, Bama OSU, Georgia reel them in with ease each year?
