Why does everyone keep mentioning Jeremiah Hughes being from Bishop Gorman?

Because it's a school that continually puts out talented players most likely.

Very good school for athletes. Similar to DeMatha or St John Bosco etc.

There are several "Hughes" in this class and maybe just from habit reporters mention the player and school to not mix up kids (albeit there is only one Jeremiah Hughes in this class)?

Establishing a Gorman pipeline certainly would not be a bad thing.

Big time school that has won multiple nattys in the last decade. Has been featured in a couple of docuseries because of Tate Martell and Snoop Dog’s son. They have also been nationally ranked and had several games televised on ESPN.

Seven players from the 2021 Bishop Gorman team are playing D1 football, including Oklahoma, Stanford, BC, and two at USC.

Anyone that doesn’t know this does not keep up with recruiting

Nattys? No. It has never won a natty, because there is no such thing as a high school natty.

While there is no national playoff, there is a national championship acknowledgment from the press, similar to NCAA pre-BCS.

While there is controversy (namely, the teams don't actually play for a title) the recognition means it’s a pretty darned good team.

Only issue I see with Hughes is his speed. Makes me wonder if they have an intent to possibly move him to FS.
