Best ever LSU class no doubt. Would, on paper, compete with some of USC's classes which are considered some of the best ever.

It's hard to say it wouldn't be the best ever - mainly because despite having "just" 4 stars next to their name I honestly think of guys like Trey Quinn, Hootie, Willis, Noil, and Dupre aas 5* talents, and then Brumfield, Clapp, Washington et al are right on their heels and are great prospects in their own right. There's no such thing as can't miss in recruiting but all of those guys have some serious pedigree and are accomplished HS players and good athletes.

However, I'd take off Jermaine Roberts and Cameron Sims and replace them with 2 DTs. Won't be a "best ever" class if we fail to address that need.

It would blow 09 out the water if that whole list signs.

Do people still think Sims is getting an offer, even after the WRs ahead of him on that list commits?

Completely agree.

I agree that it's a need but I would rather take play makers that we know can make an impact than reaching for a DT when we've have success grooming DE's into DT's. Ala Bennie Logan, Ego Ferguson and Michael Brockers.

Also we still have Mickey Johnson and Quentin Thomas that look very promising.

ETA: We also have Bain, Lacouture, Gilmore and Herron at (6'5" 260) could very well grow into a DT.

He's still in the mix but it'd be a long shot for him to get in. LSU is still giving him a good look though. I think we'll take 5 wideouts if we can (Upchurch plus the big 3 from La. are definite if we can lock them up). That 5th spot is a wildcard that could go to Dhaquille Williams, a big time OOS receiver, or Sims if he shows out. More of a luxury spot if there's a guy we can't turn away.

I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world to offer a 6'4" play making wide out. A 'big' wide out would have been great this year. Upchurch is 6'2" Quinn is 6'1"ish Noil is 5'10" and Dupree is 6'4". One more big wide out can't hurt. Throw a redshirt on him and groom him he could end up being a large asset for Jennings or Rettig.

I'd rather take Saeed Blacknall if we can get him. He's a much more physical presence. Sims reminds me of Terrance Tolliver, with maybe a little bit less overall ability. I will always remember Tolliver fondly as an ex-tiger, but we took him over Dez Bryant. If he could do that one all over again, I think Les might choose differently.

Sorta agree, but unless things unforeseen (injuries, attrition, Miles departure, etc.) affect it, this will likely be LSU's best class ever.

May not be the most well rounded (QB, DT) but talent and production will be on par with the best classes since the recruiting services arrival
