Where Things Stand the Day Before the Early Signing Period

Below I attempt to set forth where things stand with potential additions or volitional subtractions from the class. I do NOT want to speculate on players being processed both out of respect for the young men who are committed currently to the Tigers and because the natural instinct to assume that the coaches rank these kids the same as a the scouting services is just not correct. Anyway, I will try to keep this thing updated. Lastly, I'm not insider. This is an aggregation task.

Zachary Evans
5 Star RB from Houston (Northshore HS).
#1 rated RB, #9 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Georgia, Texas A&M, Alabama
Timetable: Was supposed to announce his commitment on Wednesday, December 4, but pushed it back. Current view is he signs in December and announces at the UA game.
Recent speculation, however, is that he doesn't sign and waits until February

Shea Dixon & Bill Embody have CB’d him to LSU
Steve Wiltfong CB'd him to LSU on 12/2
Georgia’s 247 guy and some Texas and Aggie guys have all CB’d him to LSU
Attends same HS as K'Lavon and Eric Monroe, which is a known LSU pipeline in the Houston area
Was in College Station on 11/16 for the Aggie's game against South Carolina.
Aggies have some optimism recently that he wants to play for a middle tier program as he visited College Station on December 8.
Coach O at home visit December 9th (no news out of this, which is surprising to me).
Wiltfong article on Dec 9 implies that he is still expecting LSU to win over the Aggies.
Sounds like LSU mods still think he's coming but it's more of a tossup.
Perroni (Aggie guy) reported that Evans IS signing during ESP but will keep it quiet until the all star game. Aggie hearts are all abuzz because Evans talked to Jimbo at a TD Club event in Houston on Dec 11 and Ed O wasn't there to stop it.
Wiltfong on Dec 11 apparently posted that he thinks Evans is headed to A&M.
Several LSU experts have made clear that the staff is recruiting two other RBs who are committed elsewhere as a backup plan.
This weekend, the optimism at A&M has faded so who knows
This one is not going to be over until its over.
Aggie mod put in a CB for EJ Smith, a 4 star RB, to the Aggies. Smith is announcing at 10:45 am on ESPN2.

Long assumed to be a Clemson signee, his interest in LSU has heated up considerably.
Lots of smoke the weekend of November 29/30 that this is now between LSU and USCe

The family has been in communication with LSU coaches, who are trying to walk back the negative recruiting of UGA. Feels like this is becoming a longshot

Unofficially visited Bama for our beatdown of them on November 9
Cancelled his official visit for Auburn that was supposed to occur Dec 6-7.
Moved his Alabama OV from December 13/14 to Dec 6/7 (leaving the following weekend potentially open for an unofficial to LSU)
Visited Florida on November 30. Did not sound like the Gators made any headway. Florida's insider even CB'd him to LSU on 12/1
Shea and Embody CB'd him to LSU the week of 11/11
The Clemson insider on 247 also CB'd him to LSU
Wiltfong article on Dec 9 almost assumed he was an LSU Tiger.
Very tight with Aranda. Aranda visits with him on Dec 12, where I hope he can convince Webb that he (Aranda) is not going anywhere. Webb would be a huge get.
The Bama mods are now all but conceding him.

Per Vol, Crawford was only going to Arkansas because of his relationship with Chad Morris. If Morris gets the OC gig at Auburn, that might be a bad sign for the Tigers.
