Sounds like they recruited Charlie Strong by making false promises. Wonder if he got a Charger to?

Just a question - what does the title of this post have to do with the body?

If word is out that Saban is retiring and Charlie Strong is taking over, I would think that would hurt Bama.

Not going to hurt them one bit as long as Saban is there. Charlie Strong isnt taking over shite at Bama. The eventual replacement will be Lane Kiffin.

Mario Cystobal is Saban's replacement. Dabo stays at Clemson.

Is it because of the way he brought Texas back from the abyss?? Has to be.

Anyone who even remotely believes Bama is turning their program over to Charlie Strong upon Saban's retirement is delusional.

This is the answer.

Yeah because a competitor like Saban knows right now that he is retiring in 3 years.

exactly. Saban doesn't even know what Saban is going to do.

You don't think Saban may be getting tired and ready to hang it up to do something else?

I’d be surprised if Saban is still coaching at Bama in 2023.

Just a hunch, but I think 2020 or 2021 will be his final season at Bama. It feels to me like it’s coming.

I think Cristobal or Kiffin will be Bama’s next coach. Bama fans would riot if Strong was the hire, that won’t happen.

They can't give him anything Clemson wouldnt. Alabama isnt the most enticing program in the country.

Everyone knows who ever follows Sabitch is a sacrificial lamb.

Strong would make sense, then they try to pry away dabo or cristobal....with promises of grandeur to the single-tooth empire...

You seem to know more about Saban than Saban does. It’s very reasonable that a man Saban’s age would have a schedule for retirement. Because of it’s damaging implications I’d imagine he and Bama would keep it a closely guarded secret, though.

Saban is 68. Any recruit going there from now on has to realize that he might experience a coaching change.

Out when I saw the strong promised HC bit...

So follow who will wind up the greatest college coach of all time with a guy who not only has been fired by every school he's tried to run, but also promote him from in house which just about always fails despite a glaring Coach O exception...

Seriously though ...Strong is not ever going to be the HC at bama let alone be the guy to follow saban...Whoever that is has the hardest act to follow in history and I wouldn't be shocked to see the next 3 coaches after saban fail to meet the very high expectations at Alabama....One last bit is that the search and hire for sabans successor will be done outside of the bama staff and will be a very major name out there ...not some up and coming guy like say how Herman looked before Texas hired him, but will be a current HC at an elite program that will be challenged by trying to follow saban and will be the highest paid HC in the sec if not the nation from day one. Bama knows as an entire community that the day is coming when the whole ship could sink if the right hire is not made and don't for a second think a guy the caliber of strong would ever be actually considered. If they did tell him this crap then they are just trying to convince him to stay on as the DC for as long as possible, he is a Head coach no doubt, and having that as a def co is invaluable, I have no doubt that a strong led def at bama will be among the best ever seen there. But youre on crazk if you believe he's ever going to be the head coach.

Charlie Strong to be HC at bama in three years? Dumbest thing posted here ever - or at least during my short tenure here.
