Dual athlete. Good enough for both. Let the kids play! Dual sport college athletes may become more prevalent. Not a bad thing for LSU since many of our programs are top tier.

Looks like a Will Wade type player to me. Much more pure of a jumper than I expected

I think spots will be limited next year, especially at guard so it will be interesting to see. I’d imagine he will need a strong summer in AAU if he even plays.

That's a pipedream. It never works. Fans get titillated when their gridiron hero shows up in mid january, maybe plays a few mop up minutes in a blow out, then announces he is leaving the team to concentrate on workouts and spring training.

Name one football / basketball dual sport athlete who was successful in basketball at LSU.

If he's on a football scholarship, then he's a walk-on for basketball correct?

Yea but it’s nearly impossible to play those two sports in college. He would be joining the team at the beginning of sec play. Basketball isn’t like baseball, they have plays, schemes and everything else he would have to learn on the fly, which would set him back too far.

Nobody can manage to play both football and basketball in college, just doesnt work with how much the 2 seasons overlap now. Our football season didnt even end until we were a few games into conference play for basketball...and trying to divert from football to basketball mid-season just like that is too difficult. You just have to choose 1 or the other nowadays in terms of impact you want to have. I doubt if Coleman goes the football route he would ever get good enough and in-sync with the basketball team to play any real minutes, maybe just some blowout minutes.

It wouldn't hurt to have him on the basketball practice squad and as a bench player if he really wants to play football. He could come in and give some quality practice reps as a stud athlete and be ready to contribute into February & March when we may need to start resting people or have some injuries. I'd take him as a walk-on any day.

He's got to decide if he wants to play football or basketball and which is his best route to the pros and a bigger paycheck. I've seen some awesome basketball highlights from Henry Ruggs too, but he decided football was best for him, and it looks to be a good decision. Dude would win every jump ball in the endzone.

The thing is, if he goes that route and is just a practice squad guy for basketball, then he’s only hurting himself by not attending spring practice for football, which is going to be his money sport.

Really nice highlights. This guy is an effortless leader with an Elite second jump. His jumper looks solid. I was impressed with his activity on defense too. I will say that his competition looks pretty bad, but he dominates out there as he should and his athleticism will translate. He kind of plays like a football player, physical and downhill. I think I like him better as a basketball player.
