Is he expected by most at LSU to forego college for the draft? Niceville lost to Tate HS in the opening round of the playoffs 16-11, but Hinds was a man among boys. Ranked #2 short stop in 2019 class, hit. 494 this year. I missed his first at bat but he went 2-3 with an intentional walk, one monster HR to center and a screaming double to the center field wall. Struck out with the bases loaded but he was trying too hard for a HR down 5 runs.

Guy has the body of a pro as a HS junior, legit 6'3 210+.

He won’t make it to campus. Premium bat at a premium position. Would be nice but he’s like the number 2 HS SS or something like that.

He would have to have a real bad summer and spring. Turang hasn’t played as expected this spring, so we might have a shot with him

Also saw the MaxPrep results this am, and have followed his stats this season. .494 with 12 HRs and 51 RBIs over 26 games. Numbers, and he is just a Junior, are incredibly impressive.

Could be wrong but I thought we have had a family friend or relative pitch in on this board about his desire to play college BB. Would love to see him in LSU purple and gold!

Yeah I searched rece Hinds and nothing came up then I searched Hinds and a thread came up where every other post was someone talking about hating all the posts about baseball recruits going pro lol. The poster mentioned Rece was their nephew about 5 different times too lol.

I look forward to watching Hinds more next year if he even plays for Niceville. I could see him going to a prep academy or something. His power is unreal and effortless, every swing had the power to be a HR. Both his double and HR were probably the 2 hardest hit balls of the game and there was 27 runs scored and probably 10 or more next level players on the field between the two teams. Has a great arm. I think 3rd may be his future due to his size, maybe outfield.

I posted just because I wasn't sure if he had any LSU ties or other reasons to forego the minors. Doesn't appear so.

I'm currently reading the FanGraphs chat with their two prospect writers. Kiley McDaniel mentioned Hinds as one of about 5 early candidates for the 1-1 pick in 2019.

As was mentioned in this thread, Niceville has a ton of guys being recruited or have already signed, and he still stands out among them.

At this time last year Turang was mentioned as 1-1 guy, to give some perspective.

That's funny, I am the Uncle that problem said he was my nephew "once." You won't be watching him at Niceville his Sr Yr, smart guy, you'll see him at the IMG Academy sharpening his skillset. No LSU ties.

cringe-worthy
