So apparently ESPN recently updated their player rankings and it looks as though all of the current LSU commits have dropped in the rankings. We went from having all 13 in the top 300 to 9. All were 4 stars and now 3 have been decreased to 3 stars. I'm not at all concerned, I just thought it was funny how we get a little recruiting momentum and ESPN does something like this.

seems aboot right... Ricks at 41 overall sounds familiar with how they had Derek Stingley Jr. ranked last recruiting cycle.
T.J. Finley still a 4*, but not in their top 300.
CamRon Jackson, Courtland Ford, and Jordan Berry are 3* graded 79. 80 is the lowest grade for 4* players.

Just off the top of my head:
Rakim Jarrett went from #2 WR to #3 - Not major
Elias Ricks went from #1 0r #2 CB to # 3; #19 nationally to #41
Max Johnson went from #5 QB-PP to #9
Demon Clowney went from #15 DE TO #18
Lorando Johnson went from #12 CB TO #15
Alec Bryant went from #18 DE TO #27
T.J. Finley went from #9 QB-PP to #21
Jordan Berry went from a 4 Star ESPN 300 to a 3 Star and out of the top 300
CamRon Jackson went from a 4 Star ESPN 300 to a 3 Star and out of the top 300
Courtland Ford went from a 4 Star ESPN 300 to a 3 Star and out of the top 300

And that's just what i can remember. I may not be exact on the numbers, but it's pretty close.

So much for subtlety - seems to be a site not worth clicks...

So they dropped at least 10 of our 13 commitments? That’s an outright joke. ESPN is such garbage it’s ridiculous.

This must have just happened because there is an article still on the ESPN college football front page about Jarrett committing and in the article it says that all 13 LSU commits are in the ESPN 300.

ESPN College Football

quote:

Jarrett's commitment gives LSU at total of 13, all of whom are ranked in the ESPN Jr. 300. Those 13 recruits in the top 300 are the most of any FBS program, one more than both Clemson and Alabama and six more than Miami.

Must have, because in the article you have linked they still have Ricks ranked #19 nationally.

According to this link he is now #41

shite. only reason this matters is composite might update and we might be pushed down to #2 or #3 class, but not sure ESPN is even in the composite algorithm

and recruits are going crazy about how LSU has the #1 class

It is, so is Rivals.

If ESPN and Rivals are shite, how do their contributions to the 247 composite make the composite better than 247's own rankings?

Updated ESPN 300

Don't use ESPN or refer to their rankings. They are the most biased and political rankings of all. I never refer to their rankings anymore. From my experience 247 has been the most accurate and reliable site concerning who the best players are. ESPN is a joke.
