After seeing what Justin Jefferson, Chase and CEH did for him in 2019 can you blame him?

I don't know where he's going. I'm only telling you what our insider is saying. The guys been money for years. I would have guessed Bama where he will be featured but they're saying the U, Oregon, and just added FSU. We'll see.

I have heard he told staff that he was going to portal and they are trying to fight to keep him. Wouldn’t be surprised with Bowers emergence.

Are colleges running much 12 personnel?

Seems to me the advantage is huge with two viable TE on the field.

He’s a good kid and would be a great asset to any team.

I was going to ask you about this. The knuckleheads on here were saying he's a problem kid, but I never heard anything like that.

Maybe they're confusing him with Pickens. IDK.

He decommitted from LSU on signing day so he's a problem child who only wants NIL money now.

Idiot take...

So when a kid flips from one school to sign with LSU on signing day, do you feel like he's a problem child too?... or do you celebrate a recruiting battle win like most fans do?

Is Washington in the portal or is this simply a wish?

been seeing in several places that he is more than likely gone. It's like the Drew Sanders situation at Bama. Kid got hurt, freshman came in and lit it up, and now kid is relegated to backup.

Washington would start IMMEDIATELY at LSU and would give us the best overall receiving lineup in the country. If the OL rounds into form and they open up the passing game, Brennan has the arm talent to have an insane season.

Imagine a Two TE set with Washington and Bech, yeah i know Bech is more of a wideout but still. Build the OLine and we may be able to have something like the 2019 offense. Brennan can put up numbers like that, he was on his way too in 2020 but damn our defense was straight trash.

Anyone who followed that kid's recruiting objectively saw that him going to Georgia was a very real possibility.

Would welcome Burton with open arms. Really liked him coming out of HS. Honestly my biggest wish is Deion decides to stay.. I just think he's going to be special.

He was talking about OBJ, Chase, and Jefferson. I know players at the school can talk to recruits but coaches cannot get former players to call recruits. Reggie Bush and Joe McKnight ring a bell? Has that changed? I do not believe it has.
That you are for sure correct.

Former Players = Booster (by NCAA definition) and that's where that falls. And there's no way around that.

Here's where it gets weird. A booster can't talk to a recruit. Period (period but with a few exceptions).
There is no rule from them contacting any player. But, a big but, while no rule prevents a booster, including former players, from contacting players if that player transfer they will consider it interference because as a booster they are a representative of the school's athletics. If that player doesn't transfer, no rule was broken.

Think of it in terms of social media, which the NCAA considers "contact". If a former LSU player congratulates Burton for being on a NC team who is the NCAA to regulate that.

But to be clear- Burton is not a recruit. He is a player. The day you enroll (in these times I'll add- for the first time) or sign a LOI you immediately go from recruit to player. Your name can be mentioned by coaches and the school. Boosters can contact. Now you can sign NIL deals starting that day. So the rules about contact for Burton are those of a player... not a recruit.

From Burtons standpoint are you gonna go play with Max Johnson, Myles Brennan or the guy who just won a Heisman and will likely be a first round pick.

Brennan was on pace to pass Burrow up in the stat column before his injury. That was with a crappy Oline, a nonexistent run game, a puss TE, and zero defense. Give Myles a good Oline, a run game, a TE, WRs and a defense that’s can stop an offense and who knows what they could have done that year?

I guess some people just don’t think in depth when it comes to recent history. It’s like our fans just make up their own versions of our recent history. I think Myles would have started over Johnson this year and Johnson had a decent year without much help as well.

All it takes is one conversation with one of our WRs, let’s say Boutte and he’d be convinced that he would be another star at LSU. This dude is not afraid of our depth chart. He’d be the second best WR on the team behind Boutte. We have size at the position and could alternate positions like we did in 2019. That is so tough for a defense to handle and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. I’m sure he’d like to be the next Jefferson / Chase duo at LSU.

So you just leave out Bech and Brian Thomas like they are shite... I Don't think Id rather have Burton over Bech and to be Honest BTJ is going to be a good WR as well so I'm not hung up on Burton personally. Id rather see us get some LB's and CB's

Agreed, we have a bunch of good young wideouts. We’ll be ok. With that being said, If he wants to be here, you definitely take him lol.

First let me say I did not read the entire thread. Shame on me.

But the trio of Boutte, Burton, and Bech... The Killer B's?

YES!! He is paid millions to not be a star struck fan! I am grateful for 2019 and O has his place in the LSU history books, but the last couple years are on him. Just like moving forward is on Kelly.

He has shown no loyalty to anyone since high school and the UGA fans I've seen, even before he declared, have said he's no a great locker room kid.

So I'm not sure why you think he's a good kid. Can you give examples?
