Our top threat for Leigh and Foreman is Clemson. OU obviously has a chance but Clemson is going all out for those two and they usually get whoever they want.

Imagine spending an hour writing your version of War and Peace trying to predict where an 18 year old kid is going to play college football. Especially when your opinion is ultimately going to be wrong.

I don't personally believe Clemson is our top competition for either. Leigh is Oklahoma and Foreman is USC. Maybe Clemson is closer with Foreman but that likely would mean we are 3rd at best. Honestly don't believe anyone truly has any idea where Foreman's head is in terms of favorites. He may not even know. Seems to change the top 2 every week here lately. USC is the only constant. I'm still on board that we land both guys but its wavering. Jan 2 could be our next 5 for 5. Hope this one goes better.

Yours is the most realistic post in this thread. You’ll probably get as many downvotes as I will.

Greeks - from what I hear, all of Leigh’s finalists are in full court press mode as the clock winds down toward his Jan. 2nd commitment date. Obviously, this should come as no surprise as Leigh is a preciously valued commodity.

Insiders from both sites have reported that the Leigh family is scheduling a final round of Zoom sessions with the likes of LSU, OU, Clemson, & OSU.

Even this far into the process, nobody knows for sure where he will end up. Anyone who claims they know 100% for certain is bluffing. All that said, I do know that the LSU camp feels good about where they stand and they are confident In receiving good news when he announces on NBC.

Lastly, the current theme surrounding LSU’s recruitment of T. Leigh is that O and Cregg have done everything necessary to put the program in position to secure his commitment, and all that remains is for them to finish strong and do whatever it takes (w/in the boundaries of the rules, of course) to CLOSE the dam deal w/ Leigh!!!

I realize nothing above gives anyone a “warm and fuzzy” feel comparable to a “guarantee” from an unidentified, inside source but I’m not going to BS you by claiming such nonsense.

The last factual tidbit I can pass along (b4 I provide my opinion) is that I’ve listened to and read the very latest content from our LSU “insiders” at both sites that I subscribe too. By no means are the LSU insiders perfect, but the’ve worked hard following Leigh’s recruitment and they’ve seemingly done a great job. Perhaps most important, they provide their HONEST takes as objectively as reasonably possible, so needless to say, I TRUST their most recent content stating that they continue to feel good about LSU’s chances for Leigh (w/ enough confidence that they’ve left their “CBs/FCs to LSU”, and made NO reductions to their “HIGH” confidence level)

Despite the use of different methods and sources by our LSU insiders, they had a similar style for delivering their takes on LSU’s recruitment of Tristan Leigh (TL). I’m paraphrasing here, but the gist of it is that “if TL were to announce today, I believe LSU is the choice (and normally followed with some variation of how fluid the situation is and that things can change at a moment’s notice)”.

Finally, I close with a tiny bit of opinion - first & foremost, I stand by my OP because I still believe O and LSU lead for, and ultimately sign, the 5* OT from Virginia.

Next, I want to clarify that I’m not claiming “Leigh to LSU” is a slam dunk of a certainty.

Last but not least, I am encouraging TIGER fans to be confident about our chances of landing Leigh. And instead of fretting over LSU missing out on some big recruits in the past, remember that it’s OK to allow yourself to get a little excited about this one. Here’s why - all that remains for TL to choose LSU are coaches closing out the deal, and if there’s one thing O recently proved during the “Sage Ryan” week, it’s that he can CLOSE the deal for a big-time, 5* recruit.

Sorry to disappoint you OG, but you ain’t getting Leigh or Byrd.

Leigh = LSU

Byrd = SMU

And even sadder thing is you probably ain’t getting Bryce Foster either.

Foster = A&M

However, you can take comfort in nice little consolation prize of perennial arse whooping in CFP semis.

As a reminder, Alabama has two top 5 OVERALL offensive linemen in their class. LSU better shape up.

Or, imagine spending free time trolling the message board of an opposing Fanbase to talk noise about hypothetical recruiting victories for the obvious reason that no such opportunity exists for winning games outside of the Big-12

A Big-12 recruiting board is the perfect place for you to reign as cock of the walk, because I’m certain there would be ample opportunity to gloat about OU victories of every stripe - recruiting (past, present & future), UT, the 2000 championship (even tho you were still in diapers back then), and whatever else your heart desires.

Yep, you are correct deuce985.

It's not looking great for Leigh, and that sucks bad.

My apologies for potentially getting hopes up.

Frankly, I'm fricking stunned we will most likely finish the ESP with only one (1) OL. I'm sorry, but that's a piss poor result given the recent success of our team and that position group specifically.

Isn’t Leigh going to sign today but not announce till Jan? What “tip offs” can the fans look for to find out if he picked LSU or someone else? If LSU offers another lineman after today?

We will be pursuing other O Linemen regardless, so you may not know by our actions. I guess if OU and UF are still looking around and offering other guys after today, that would be your best bet.
