I know a bunch of Pickerings from that area Mississippi.

They have a slightly different complexion than this guy though.

There is far more in Louisiana to poach than in Mississippi. Check the recruiting rankings in the last 30 years. Oh congrats on that last SEC Title MSU won inn tge 40s.

Tell me again about poaching. Lol.

I actually think that LSU will get a couple of these big DE/DT prospects. LSU has been loading up on edge rushers and NTs but not so much at this position so they have a real shot to come and play immediately at LSU.

Like someone mentioned earlier, this DL will be creating some havoc this year and will look very enticing to a big DE from Miss to come play here at LSU. Lots of Miss guys grow up LSU fans. With OM down we should be all up in there taking full advantage which I'm sure we will be once the season kicks off.

If we can land the LBers I think we will then that should help as well. This defense could be nasty with a couple of these guys coming into the class along with Sopsher! GT

Ole Miss is not in the game for Pickering. It's LSU or State with Florida and Bama after that.

It's going to come down to which has the best engineering program.

So Pickering and Ika visiting this weekend. It's an interesting play. Some kids go for the it's all about me and I'm special visit. But, sometimes showing a kid that you are attracting top talent at their position makes the offer seem that much more of a big deal. If you can present a kid with both then you are in a much better position to get a commit.

Press will be on in full force this weekend. Several big names on campus including Kardell Thomas to help recruit. I'm not saying he will, because who the hell knows what a 17-18 year old kid is ever going to do in the moment, but I won't be shocked if he committed before he left Sunday.

2 questions.
Being from MS, is it likely that his commitment (if it were to happen) is a solid one? They always seem to like LSU early before switching back to one of the home teams.

If he commits are there any other Mississippi guys we are after who could follow suit?

Anyone that commits from the central/north Mississippi area is always a risk til signing day. There's a few other Mississippi guys we are after like Dean, Handy, Jackson, Moore, etc... But don't think any of them are really tied to Pickering. Dean obviously is the big prize we're after, but feels like a long shot at this point.

I could see Pickering choosing LSU. Seminary is just northwest of Hattiesburg, so the difference in distance between Seminary and Starkville and Seminary and BR isn't significant.

Could be a monster DE in our 3-4 scheme.

Of all the DL on the board outside of Sopsher...this is the kid I wan't in P&G.

He might commit but then it won’t stick . Too many damn mind games with prospects.

I'd love to get Handy and Jackson back on campus. It's been awhile for them.

It's unofficial visits and there is also camps this weekend. Malachi Moore, 2020 DB out of Alabama, is another high profile visitor.

Him and the kid out of Utah + Sopsher would be just an insanely good DL haul

Pickering on one defensive end and Sopsher on the other really ought to anchor your defense for two if not three years. They're prototype 3-4 defensive ends.

Exactly OM isn't in it for many of these guys which is what I was saying. LSU is right there and should be going into Miss now that OM is weak. I think LSU has a great chance to fight off State for many of these guys if they go hard for them. LSU has lots of recruiting advantages over Miss State, so push those facts out to these recruits.

The fact that they haven't won anything significant in years, the fact that State has only beaten LSU a number of times in the last 20 years, how many players LSU prepares for the NFL, the quality of player that we can back them up with consistently and the TV time they would get at LSU compared to Miss State. LSU is prime time football even now where as State isn't near as much.

The NFL connections LSU has compared to many of these SEC schools. The legends who come out of LSU on a yearly basis. They could come be a part of that lengendary experience. Yes they could try to change things at State but LSU can prove that they just aren't as consistent and can't be like LSU. It's just the facts. I wouldn't negetive recruit other schools per say but facts are facts and I would put that out there for them to see.

Have these guys come in at the same time and sit with Aranda to show the schemes that they could be a part of. How dominant they could be here with all the depth we could create. How with their help we could take down the mighty Nick Saban and the Tide. Let them take a look at the next two classes and how stacked their roster could be. Keep their bodies fresh while also preparing them for the NFL. Show them how we could rotate them with equal players and still dominate and how much fun that would be in Aranda's scheme. I could go on and on.
