Well think about this.. for Rodney, every other athlete on that team, especially the ones who received scholarships, worked their asses off to get to LSU with a scholarship.. how would you feel if this guy just showed up bc his brother told the staff he's only coming if his bro gets on the team as well.

The problem with all these post about taking these other players I’ve the Ish bros is we don’t even know if it’s possible. We are just speaking hypothetical.

Do they know more about it than Alabama’s staff? Or Georgia’s staff? Or A&M’s staff? Or Clemson’s staff? Or Ohio State’s staff? Or Oklahoma’s staff?Because none of those teams have offered both Ish and Rodney. This is probably a situation where Orgeron thinks it’s better to take the sure thing in Ish and Rodney over gambling on other players, and I’d probably agree, but this is a discussion board where we can throw around hypotheticals for fun. LSU fans eating their own once again. Let's keep dogging out our coaches, players, and recruits. It works out great for a program. Never mind the fact that Nick Saban took a scrub WR to land a stud OT from Monroe.

Saban had that luxury and I'm not sure we do. Regardless it's a pointless discussion. We have no idea if it's realistic to get Pickering, Young or Moore.
I'm pretty sure the LSU staff knows the upside and downside to Sopsher's talent and motor, etc.

What if I think that you’re dogging our potential recruits because you don’t welcome Pickering with open arms into this class? Here’s some breaking news for you: the Sopsher brothers haven’t signed with LSU. No one was stopping them from committing and signing in December. They’re not “our players” or “our recruits” any more than Pickering or any other uncommitted prospect.
I’m sorry if you have an emotional attachment to them but this discussion is absolutely fair game, and if we’re being honest they would already be enrolled at Alabama had Saban offered Rodney a scholarship. I really don’t have any pity for them in this situation, and I’m certainly not going to avoid what I think is an interesting discussion because it triggers people like you and Ree. I’ve kept up with this bullshite recruiting game for long enough to know that sucking up to 17 year olds who don’t love LSU on the recruiting board does jack shite, so again, either contribute to the discussion or get out of my thread

That being said, when’s the last time we flipped a top-100 defensive lineman from Alabama near signing day? Give me Byron Young plus another 4 star like Pickering or Ward over the Sopsher brothers all day long. Finally flipping a highly ranked DL from Bama would be a way bigger recruiting win than signing a plummeting prospect with questionable work ethic who’s only going to LSU because we’ll take his unranked brother IMO, even moreso if we sign Devonta Lee and get a really talented Amite guy anyway.
Just curious to hear the board’s thoughts on that scenario, because I see a lot of people making the valid argument that we need to dominate Louisiana this cycle but ignoring the fact that it would pretty much guarantee that we wouldn’t be able to flip a really, really good player from Alabama and retain another scholarship to spend on a really talented guy like Ward who may get pushed out by Rodney.
To everyone who continually start threads regarding the Sopshers with this EXACT belief. NO shite you would take that deal. So would every coach on the planet. You act like LSU is consciously making a decision to take 2 Sopshers instead of Young and Pickering. That just isn't the case. The fact is Sopsher is here locally and we have a better chance of landing him than Young or Young and Pickering. You all act like those two dudes are just begging to come here but we won't take them bc we are all in on Amite. Just ignorant

Coach O obviously thinks that rebuilding the wall in that area of the state is important enough to offer both Sospher's to help repair that part of the wall. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out!
