Joe Flacco, Derek Anderson, and Byron Leftwich all did fine in the NFL

Y’all keep giving him examples of QBs who don’t fit his criteria. He said “6’ 7” or taller. Joe Flacco does not count any more so than does Danny Devito.

I bet I could give you a list at least a thousand times as long of QB's who are in your "perfect" height range that "failed" in your eyes!!

Good God, this is a stupid point. It’s all very simple. The guy said that there are no successful NFL QBs 6’ 7” or taller. Idiots are arguing with him by pointing out that:

1. There are many QBs in the 6’ 5” range who did well.
2. There are many QBs in the 6’ 5” range who washed out.

These are stupid points that are absolutely irrelevant to the point this poster made. BTW, I don’t have a position on Finley or his height. If the coaches think he’s a stud I’ll take him as a Tiger.

Ummm TJ can actually run.... Your ill informed if you think he’s a statue like Mett....

Kid is talented.....Jimbo,Saban,Dabo....alll recruited the hell out of TJ....

Sad to see our own fanbase question this kids talent!

Jimbo would trade King for TJ in a heartbeat!

This place is special inhabited by special people. When Miles recruited “dual threat” QBs, their mantra was LSU has RBs and didn’t need QBs who could run. Now many of the same people are arguing Finley is too slow and are longing for Haynes King.

There are many who have been against Finley being an LSU QB from the start. It started with some claiming they knew someone who knew him and he had an attitude problem. Then it was alleged he wasn’t smart until it became known his mother is a medical doctor. Then it was he was highly inaccurate at the same time they were touting Max Johnson, whose completion percentage was worse than Finley’s. But they explained Johnson’s lower percentage was because of his poor teammates. Now that Finley has shown in camps and Elite 11 that his accuracy is not a problem and that he is one of the most talented QBs in the nation, now it’s he’s too tall and too slow and has terrible pocket awareness. Come on man!

Before Magic Johnson, most people thought it Impossible a 6’ 9” 260 lb player could be a point guard. Magic is arguably the best pg in history. Before Jared Lorenzen, no one thought a 300 pounder could play QB. Or that a Spud Webb could dunk and play in the NBA. Or that a 5’ 11” QB could be successful in the NFL until Fran Tarkenton, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson. There are those who can find a thousand reasons when they don’t want a player at LSU.

You can be of average intelligence and make it through med school. And a genius can breed and raise a moron. I don’t know a thing about the poor young fellow getting disparaged, but just correcting the implied logic.

Couldn't have said it better myself. There is a huge percentage of people on these forums that bitch about virtually any recruit we get.

The kid can't do this or can't do that. Who the hell are these forum keyboard clowns that they know what a kid is capable of or not. Finley may already have a stronger arm than just about any college QB playing right now, as a high school kid.

The kid has never said or done anything even slightly indicating he has attitude issues, or anything else people in here constantly bitch about.

There is every likelihood that he is going to turn into a great passing QB, so let's just see what the coaching staff can do with him. All the raw tools are there to be worked with.

So now doctors are of average intelligence? You obviously were not a pre-med major or went to medical school.

The odds say if your parent is a medical doctor or highly intelligent, you will be an above average student of above average intelligence. Of course if you choose to seek the negative, your position would be doctors and highly intelligent people can have dumb kids as well to support that negative view.

What an ignorant opinion. Trevor Lawrence is 6’6” and he is pretty damn good. Last time I checked Tom Brady is 6’5” and he is the GOAT.

Kids are getting bigger, faster and stronger. QB’s being this tall will become more the norm in a few years.

Is this the guy that Gruden just told on hard knocks is too tall to be a qb and everyone on the defense can see and read his eyes?

Jamarcus was good enough in college to be drafted #1 overall. A lot of the guys you listed were good enough to be drafted relatively high, make it to the NFL, and hell even win a Super Bowl.

Seeing as how this is a college-related board I would take Jamarcus 2.0 with a nice touch to lead the Tigers to a natty any day.

Yep.

Also the guy that threw for 7,000 yards and 60+ TDs over 2 seasons in college.

Also the guy that was drafted in the 3rd round of the NFL draft and has ~$30,000,000 in career earnings playing professionally.
