Shelvin is a redshirt Sophomore. He could have gone pro.
I think he would do better by coming back. Defensive players are judged more often on two years unless you get 15+ sacks or 6-7 interceptions.
Another year like this one and he could be a top rated NT. Then the 3-4 defenses would consider a top 2 round pick on him. The only thing that could improve his lot in life is to get some sacks ;-) Maybe next year he can break through!

These are the main guys that I wanted to see come back. Huge for LSU imo. I was hoping that Phillips and Queen would come back but the rest don’t surprise me. Phillips and Queen could have made huge jumps in the draft next year.
I know it’s not likely but I think Chassion could also jump way up if he works on his game. Spin move, swim moves, getting thicker and working on getting off his blocks faster and not hand fighting with the OT as much.
I’m not so sure that Queen and Phillips made the right call here. Could both be 1st or 2nd round guys next year. I think they’re probably 3rd or 4th right now. Can’t blame Cush, Jefferson, Delpit and CEH for sure. I think our LT could have stayed another year as well. Oh well. I hope they’re successful in the NFL.

There were many games this year, esp early to mid season, he (Shelvin) was the best defensive player on the field for us. Kinda surprised he came back but I am happy. Woulda been a great D if one of queen or Phillips came back.

Smart. Shelvin can move into big time d-lineman territory and JaCoby can be the Delpit of 2020 with awards and recognition.
Chassion could move into Chase Young type territory with another year.

Queen is the best linebacker in the SEC. Phillips should probably come back, but Queen is a beast. He made the jump from last year to this year that Delpit made freshman to sophomore year. He’s big, he’s fast and he is extremely quick...he read those options and screens like a book all game long...they couldn’t block him. #11 for Clemson was the Butkus award winner and Queen THOROUGHLY outplayed him. He’s going early 2nd at absolute worst.
