Neither school has institutional commitment. That’s why they are falling.

Where you attend school isn’t usually your permanent(taxable) address. You’ll still pay taxes according to your permanent address.

My guess is no one is paying taxes anyway.

You pay taxes according to where you live, not where you work.

A Florida congressman just put forth legislation to make it easier for the Florida schools to make nil deals. Like yesterday because of complaints from Florida and fsu. Apparently a state law made it hard for them to directly offer deals. Next year they will be monsters.

Wrong you pay taxes based off of where you earn the money.

Professional athletes have to pay taxes in every state they play games in.

Why? They all have the same challenge we have.

Georgia and Bama (and now possibly aTM) selecting whoever they want from whichever state they want.

None of these kids are thinking about taxes unless someone is advising them and actually looking out for their best interest.

This man is mostly correct. The athlete pays income tax where the money is earned plus is subject to income tax on these same earnings in athlete's state of domicle subject to an off-set for the difference in state income tax rates.

So if a player who is domiciled in CA and makes $1.6 mil per year or $100K per game plays a game in Ohio, he would owe Ohio income tax on the $100K plus that $100K would be includable as income on his CA tax return, but the athlete would only pay CA income tax on the difference in tax rates on the $100K.

If, hypothetically, the CA tax on the $100K is $9000 and the Ohio tax is $5000, athlete would pay $4000 CA tax on said $100K in addition to the Ohio tax.

Alternatively, if Ohio had a higher rate than CA, no CA tax would be paid on said amount.

Literally the first sentence of your link:

quote:

If you work in one state and live in another, you might be required to file more than one state income tax return.

You pay taxes based off where you earned that income. During road games professional athletes have to pay taxes in the state they are playing in that week.
