Subtle differences between schools that might offer insight into how they recruit
Just a quick glance at the 247 Team rankings board shows this.

Clemson- 18 recruits, all have signed their LOI by 10:30.
Ohio St- 21 recruits, all have signed their LOI
OU- 16 recruits, all have signed their LOI
Notre Dame- 25 recruits, 23 have signed their LOI

I find it interesting that they aren't sitting around playing games like we always seem to do on signing days..

Their commitments were actual commitments and followed through.

Maybe it is nothing, but given the track record over the past few years of dealing with indecisive players, maybe these coaches have a different approach.

I noticed that earlier too and thought the same.

With all the negative recruiting and allegations we are facing, you can’t compare us to them right now.

Also shea just predicted us to finish with the #3 class at the end of the day

None of those are SEC programs. That's what I notice.

While true, the same has happened the past couple of seasons.

Would you trade classes with any of those schools? Serious question. OSU is the only one for me.

They dont have time for the bs. Either sign with us or lose your spot. They have options and a better grasp of roster management. If you don't sign with us, we will just get another player we know wants to come here.

Have you seen that Ohio State class? I’d trade with them in a heartbeat.

There’s talk of LSU replacing offensive and defensive coordinators and impending doom for covering assaults. Be glad anyone is getting on board today.

..or LSU still doing the slow release of LOIs like they did for the Bayou Bash.

You trading classes with them? You don't get extra points for speed in getting a kid to sign.

Ohio State has an elite class.

lmao i'll be honest, I forgot that OSU was on that list. The point, though, is that there is only ONE team in the entire country who both a) has a better class than us, *and* b) isn't still scrambling on signing day. For the most part, if you're shooting for a tip top class, you accept that there will be some scramble when ESD rolls around. Conference also plays a role

No competition for any of those teams in their conference. All softer players usually - that’s why they all get blasted by the top sec teams every year in the playoffs.

Because LSU is still working their way to be at the level of those schools annually. They aren’t there yet as you can tell by this past season. LSU is at the top of the next group of schools trying to make the jump. It’s a process and doesn’t happen overnight.

Notre Dame is an exception as well because of their academic requirements. They can’t just offer anyone a scholarship. Those players have to be accepted by the school as well.

With that said the best of the best of them is Bama and not on your list. So apparently both ways work.

I would agree if this wasn’t an annual occurrence for us. No amount of stability ever kept us from having these stressful signing days

LSU is still signing 25 every year so they have this same mentality as well.

I'm pretty sure Clemson tells their guys they can only commit if they sign their papers. They don't allow you to take visits or anything afterwards they're revoke the ship. Pretty sure that's how it works there but they have the luxury of doing this. LSU is not on the level of Clemson's consistency when it comes to winning every year.
