Stars, stars, stars
I enjoy coming here because I like the insight that is available on the players that we are recruiting and/or have committed. There is always someone here that knows something about every recruit we are interested in. I filter thru the BSers and the haters to get to the gist of our recruiting class. I find it funny that some believe it is beneath LSU to offer and accept a guy whose a 3 star who actually wants to be a Tiger while we “lost out” on a 4 star that ends up going to Bama/TAMU etc. I trust our coaches to go after who they think can help us AND come to LSU. Here’s something interesting with guys coming out of high school, y’all might recognize some of these...
3 Star: Aaron Rodgers, Prescott, Matt Ryan, Richard Sherman, Von Miller
2 Star: Le’Veon Bell, Jordy Nelson, Russell Wilson, TY Hilton, JJ Watt, Aqib Taleb, Kalil Mack
0 Star: Tom Brady, Big Ben, David Johnson, Antonio Brown
My point is, if they want to be an LSU Tiger, let’s welcome them, coach them up and win games!! Who needs a 5 star Like Surtain who left us at the altar!!
Ok guys.....rip my post up and throw me under the bus!!

So we have just as much talent as bama and Clemson? It’s just in hidden 2-3 star gems?

Good post. The emphasis that posters are putting on stars right now is just being used to get at the coach. It's something for the haters to latch onto and complain about.

A month ago they'd argue you up and down that LSU was one of the most talented teams in the country and O was just squandering all of this talent that Les was good enough to leave him.

So which is it. Is LSU loaded with talent or did it all magically disappear last week? What happened?

Lsu needs to upgrade the roster to win or keep doing what we're doing now and see the same results

It's simple really

I know that bama and Clemson by and large have rosters loaded down with 4-5 star talent and have won many of the last title games. Soooo yea the 4-5 star players are typically the ones you want

True, but you say if we want to win? We were 10-3 with those 3 losses being on the road to Florida (vomit), Bama (vomit twice) and A&M in 7
overtimes with dubious officiating which likely cost us a shot at the CFB. I think this team is on the verge of a big year and the studs we have secured for 2020 so far are encouraging!! We just have to slay the dragon in Tuscaloosa

its a team sport and yeah its awesome to get hidden gems that turn into studs but to build a long term stable program, win championships, and create revenue for the State and University.. you have to recruit at an elite level EVERY year. that means 4 and 5 star recruits.

Yes, this is true Miganey so let me run these numbers by you.. in 2019 the top 3 recruiting classes are as follows ranked by Rivals and I’m only using 5 & 4 stars... Georgia 3/15, Bama 3/22, LSU 4/9, we had more 5s than both (interesting that Clemson isn’t here). So far for 2020...Clemson 5/11 (they are putting together a class for the ages), Bama 1/14, LSU 3/10. There are typically 30 5 stars in each class so I think we have more than held our own the last 2 years under Coach O and with the coaching getting better...

Yeah, this is brand new. Dumbass, it’s been going on before stars. Used to be Blue Chips and everyone wanted those too. Quit white knighting for Ed, he doesn’t need your help.

Dude, we weren’t getting into the CFP with two losses.

If you are going by recruiting services and rankings, then yes, LSU has more talent than Clemson. Go look at where Clemson finished in the recruiting rankings the last 5 years. According to 247
2015: LINK /
2016: LINK /
2017: LINK /
2018: LINK /
2019: LINK /
So, only in 2018 did Clemson's recruiting class rank higher than LSU. If we're going to make an argument regarding talent and a recruiting service is the stick by which one measures, it'd be a good idea to know just who had the higher ranked classes.

You are making my point exactly.. stars mean nothing at this point in these young player’s careers but some think a program is made or broken by them

re: Stars, stars, stars
At the time we lost to Bama, there was most DEFINITELY a chance for us to get in the CFB with 2 losses given our record/schedule. Our ranking was still higher than Bama’s in the CFB matrix

I find it funny that people take the rankings of players so literally.

LSU's leader in receptions, yards and TD's this past season was the 308th best WR, the 2,164th best player in the nation and the 76th best player in Louisiana.

So that alone tells you there is NO WAY the guy led the LSU team in receiving. There is just NO WAY

I don’t see the obligatory 2 star Jacob Hester in your rundown

List is shite
