Alabama is at 24 signees with a limit of 28. Do we know if they're keeping a spot open for Sopsher?

I don't think there is a school in the country that doesn't find room, or save room in this case, for a 5* DL.

The top DT in America? Probably not. Probably saving a spot for a second kicker.

They will undoubtedly have room for him and if they have to give his brother a scholly as the only way to get him, they will make 2 spots.

247 shows them with only 22 sigs, and 4 commits. Where do you see the 24 signatures?

Nope. They miscounted and he’s going to LSU now.

Sanders is still showing as unsigned, but that's just a delay I think. Pretty sure he was signing today.

I don't think the other 3 (Williams. Young and Robinson) were supposed to sign today.

There was talk on the Bama board that Robinson might follow Locksley to Maryland.

I think the better Sopsher question is if Ish wants to be at Bama enough, does he break the package deal with Rodney bc I'd be shocked if they offer Rodney, too. I don't see a current bama offer for him unless I'm mistaken.

Which kinda irks me LSU caved and offered both, but if landing Ish requires Rodney, then I'm ok with it. What's really going to suck is if Ish makes it known he and Rodney are 100% a package deal, LSU honors offer to both, Bama only offers Ish and he still goes to Bama. The amount of egg on our face would be awful. I'm preparing myself for that because I have a feeling it's coming.

I believe they're make room for as many DLinemen as they can, so long as it keeps us from signing a true, badass 3-4 DE.

One of these fellas is going to have to either initially want to come here (possible for Sopsher), or they'll need to realize what Saban is doing in regards to hogging all the linemen, or they'll have to sour on Gumps.

They both already have offers from us. The thing is, big bro ain’t getting anything to sign until the ink is dry on Ish.

Yeah, I know we've offered both. And if it works, I'm cool with it. I just have a feeling Bama is only going to offer Ish and he's gonna sign regardless of Rodney. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't put anything past that tyrannical midget anymore.

Okay, someone that really understands the rules when the new early signing period went into effect last year.

IF A TEAM DOES NOT SIGN THE FULL 25 ONE YEAR CAN THEY CARRY THAT OVER THE FOLLOWING YEAR ....or do they forfeit the number of recruits below 25 they didn't sign?

So, if Bama or any other school signed less than 25 last year, do they get to carry those over to this year??

There is no egg on the face. The kid said he and his brother are a package deal. You offer the brother and he still goes to Bama without his brother, then you were never getting him anyway.

The optics become we did everything we could but Bama must be doing something shady. That’s the outside perspective. That’s also a good sell for LSU’s fanbase.

The real answer is that Bama has an Amite native on staff. They also have a Hammond native on staff. Recruiting is about relationships. “Who’s going to take care of your son?” Somebody you’ve known your whole life is not a bad choice. So it’s undestandable. Much harder on the parents when your son plays for Alabama and you live in Amite - unless they move.

Bottom line is that our staff has proven that they will fight the good fight. Maybe we win, we probably don’t. That’s the world we live in now. It’s hard to blame a player for going to Bama.

They only signed 22 last year. 25 is still the cap, because they signed 3 short last cycle, they can back count those 3 as long as they're early enrollees the following year....

When the next signing period comes, I guarantee if a top Dline wants in at LSU and they have other top players that want in, that offer to Ish and his brother are done. May be done already. NUmbers may get really tight if all the players LSU is after want in. Orgeron said today they even turned away some really good RB's because they made commitments to Ty and Emery. I don't think he would have a problem turning Ish away if there's other top recruits that will finish out the class. Hampton is a tricky situation. IDK how they will handle it.

I Don’t understand some of these posters! This has been addressed many times on this board. Saban mentioned it in his press conference yesterday. They have 6 spots remaining!!

If their state school really wanted them and they signed with their biggest rival repeatedly then yes. We don’t have that scenario with any particular state that I know. I don’t care if a LA guy signs with Auburn or Florida but I have utter contempt for all the guys signing with Alabama.
