I mean, he came on an official visit this past weekend, so we probably have some kind of a shot.

Not to stereotype, but weight rarely seems to be an issue with a lot of these pacific islander kids. Most that I've seen are able to keep the mobility and athleticism despite size.

LINK

thanks for making me look

Bama has 5 guys on their roster listed at 325+. For reference, LSU has 8

The 325 OL guys play, but the bigger boys are just providing depth

He had a great visit last weekend. It'll be us or Bama, and we feel like we did enough during his OV to land him. We'll see how it shakes out.

350 lbs is nothing for an islander. They are fantastic athletes

Mt Cody was too big for college, too.

I always thought this to be one of the worst examples to be brought up for a "GOOD" big player. He was very average, and way, way overhyped.

I'd take both Sopsher and Ika but if only one, I think I'd roll with Ika. While he doesn't have Sopsher's ceiling, I think he has a much higher floor. Behind Alexander's bad knees, we have Shelvin and Livingston's extra 50 pounds. I think Ika could play the 10 snaps per game we need from a backup NT next year. Again, I'd take both but from an immediate need standpoint and higher floor standpoint, I like Ika.

After the visit we have a shot, his family really enjoyed the visit.
Based off what I've heard we have more of a shot with Ika then Sopsher at this point.

Would be awesome if we pulled Ika and Dean in place of the Sophers.

Saban does this on purpose. It was alluded to on 104.5 this morning. He targets kids at the top of our board after they get what they want from elsewhere. It is designed to hurt this program moreso than any other. They don't care about A&M, UGA, UF, or Auburn.

They don't care about Auburn?

Maybe just maybe both programs simply target elite players.

Free 24/7 article. Siaki recaps his official visit to LSU. Fehoko hosted him.

Seems like a very intelligent recruit.

"A lot coaches have told me that I've got to soak in the experience, reflect and let it die down a bit after the visit to see how I feel about a place."
