Shea was on Culotta yesterday

Starts @ 1 hour mark

Cliffs

-You can't snap your fingers and just fix the roster. Give Brian Kelly time to get things together. Team has a nice core but total program wise. Expect 7-8 wins one more than last year.

-Noah Cain entered the portal and Shea hinted that LSU would be at the top of the list. With Frank Wilson on staff sounded very positive. (Which we saw he committed to LSU last night)

-Jacoby Matthews is visiting Florida this weekend. It will be a busy month leading to his February signing. In home visits and visits to Ponchatoula by staffs. Texas, A&M and Florida are the main competition. Believes that when it comes down to it in February he will be at LSU. 7/10 confidence level.

-Jermaine Burton from Georgia entered the portal one time LSU commit. Flipped on ESD. Just talking to people in Athens doesn't feel that Burton is a fit for what Brian Kelly is trying to get accomplished.

-Kyren Lacy is who the staff is really hard on. He has visited Auburn and LSU yesterday.

- Latrell McCutchin from OU has entered the portal

- Jalen Kimber from Georgia has entered the portal but hasn't been offered yet. A name to keep an eye on.

-Raydar Jones only guy coming back from last year at CB . He has heard he might hit the portal.

-Right now LSU has 13 HS signees. 4 committed from the portal. 15 spots left. They could sign 15 HS or 15 transfers. Spliced up either way. (This was yesterday before Cain).

-Will hold spots until the spring and take a look at the depth chart after spring ball. Expects possibly 4 spots to remain left open. Mid 20's of signees by February.

-Harold Perkins mom called the Culotta show and told them to take down the clip of Uncle Al's interview because all he was doing was clout chasing. Uncle Al spoke and said that LSU wasn't dead in the water yet.

-Shea says that it isn't now that Frank Wilson is involved that it isn't over yet. Matt House still coaching in the NFL playoffs. Frank has taken over the lead and is the best in NOLA.

-Asked about Joe Evans and Donte Stark but had no information on them. He would be surprised to see them back but with the roster numbers it could happen.

-Believes that Cortez Hankton will 100% be the WR coach and announced very soon. Done deal. NOLA ties. While at UGA he was an area recruiter for Houston & Dallas.

-Danny Lewis picked up his offer earlier this week. All district in the big three sports. True athlete. Strong hands and a solid TE. Expects to sign with LSU. LSU will be the last visit.

-Nothing new on Citizen. Frank Wilson special right there with no RB committed.

-Quency Wiggins very fortunate he just injured his wrist after that accident. Only played football 2 years. Basketball kid his whole life. People were talking about him being the Alpha Dog at the AA practices. Upside is as good as anyone they've signed. Will is translate like Maason Smith?

Love seeing a multi-sport athlete at that position.

Damn. I trust Brian Kelly completely, but I thought this kid had done things the right way and was waiting for his time.

Hate to see it, but it is what it is.

Appreciate the info but Burton has not entered the portal yet and Joe Evans already said he was coming back. Also McGhee is also coming back at CB. If Raydarious fixes his academics he can come back.

Sounds like he was reporting on the rumor which is all over UGA team boards

quote:

Joe Evans already said he was coming back.

Does that mean that he's actually coming back just because Joe said it?

quote:

Sounded like he meant a starter during the interview

quote:

Or he will enter the portal

Look man I just typed up the cliffs that were from yesterday and I know how things change

So I am guessing that momma didn't like the interview that Uncle Al gave on Culotta? I don't think he's been on anything else except twitter.

Kind of crazy to imagine being at 25-28 after NSD when we only had 13 commits after early signing day.

Right now we are sitting at #19 in the 247 rankings. If we got Mathews we would move up to #12. Mathews and Citizen would be a bump to #11.. with only 21 commits and 11 spots remaining. Granted, nobody has a full class yet and getting Mathews + Citizen is far from a guarantee. But it’s still nuts to think we even have a shot at a top 10 class considering how things looked a month ago.

re: Shea was on Culotta yesterday
I’ve been watching Lacy play since his time at Thibodaux. The underrated skill I think he has is his ability to block in the running game or even block for a WR down the field after a catch. A lot of WRs fake block but lacy is willing to do the work. Also of note he was focused on basketball early on and did join the football team till he was a junior (maybe it was his sophomore year but I’m pretty sure it was his junior year). So he is still learning. Next UL focused on running the ball in his two years but he still had 10 TDs in those 2 years with a team leading 6 last year. When they did throw the ball to the end zone they looked his way. With the Covid year he still has 3 years of eligibility too. Based on him willing to do the small things, if lsu gets him he may not be a star (I don’t know maybe he will become a star and if so I’m pulling for him) but he should be an awesome complementary piece to start building this team up.

I think his name is Corey Raymond and now he coaches at UF. There is a reason kids were opting out and milking injuries the last few years. I think Raymond became salty the last few years at LSU when they were hiring random defensive Coordinators. Not hating on Raymond but the writing was on the wall.
