This isn’t new information, but here are the SEC offers received out of HS for 4 of LSU’s most important offensive players:

Burrow - Kentucky and Vanderbilt
Edwards Helaire -LSU, Mississippi State
Cushenberry - LSU, Mississippi State
Jefferson - LSU

2 thoughts: 1) Thank you Jesus. 2) Dan Mullen is an unlikeable weirdo, but he obviously was set up to find hidden gems in Louisiana.

Mullen has always had a great eye for talent.

Except when it comes to playing Franks over Trask

And Jefferson probably only got an LSU offer because of his legacy.

Thought Jefferson had some eligibility/grade issues and concerns that really impacted his recruiting?

Nobody thought he would qualify, he would have had more offers otherwise

Yeah that was his issue, nobody thought he was going to qualify so nobody offered him. He was always a good receiver though

Considering he flipped to us from South Carolina on signing day, I'm going to assume he had an offer from them as well.

He qualified that summer. Waaaaay after signing day.

I mean He had good measurables And had 2 D1 brothers. He likely would have been better rated if his grades were in order from the start. He was also
Probably an LSU death lock once he qualifies.

Coach O’s biggest asset is recruiting. He landed the jobs he’s had because of his ability to recruit.
I remember hearing the news of him coming to LSU while with my father in the hospital.
It may my day way way better. It was the first time I smiled in a week.

I think it's more that everyone knew they had no chance to get him. He wasn't rated higher because of academics and from what I remember he didn't really go to any camps besides LSU. He was 100% LSU all the way.

It doesn’t so much matter how you get in. The more important thing is what you do with the opportunity. Jefferson has been money for this team. He deserves every compliment he gets, and will hopefully get paid well in the NFL.
