For LSU, the Tigers continue to be among the elite in the nation in recruiting, but have fallen a couple of notches below rivals Alabama and Georgia on the field in recent years.

Georgia. Lol.

I guess last year’s game wasn’t played on the field.

When is the last time LSU made the playoffs or even went to the SECCG? Don't blame it all on Bama because Auburn has managed to get their twice since LSU did.

if Georgia was in the west they would never sniff Atlanta. would be consistent 9-3 team

All that list does is highlight how good Dabo Swinney is!

That being said he is playing in the second weakest conference only behind the PAC 12

UGA is up with OSU and Alabama in talent. Those three are the elite.

Clemson will be there soon. Hopefully LSU too.

And LSU destroyed Georgia with all that elite talent. It wasn't even close.

Where do y'all keep getting all this stuff from? UGA has been close to beating Bama the past two years. They've let leads get away late in the fourth both times. Before Clemson became the new it thing, they had a problem that people laughed about, nicknamed "Clemsoning". UGA blew out UF, Kentucky, and Auburn last year. Year before they beat Notre Dame, blew out a ranked 9-4 Miss St, got payback for being blown out by Auburn, blowing them out, and then beat Oklahoma.

LSU beating UGA last year has seriously gone to yall's heads. UGA is a top 5 team. They also have some head scratcher tendencies that are pretty normal for new head coaches.

They would compete with Bama every year, I could also see them winning some. They would recruit just as good as Bama, by this I'm talking quality, but also filling all depth needs yearly. The only other team they'd have to constantly worry about is splitting games is with LSU. They'd be consistently 10-2 or better every year with the rare 9-3 year. Smart is a young coach who can recruit and UGA is a place where the are surrounded by talent in state and right next door.

If beating UGA makes us better then is Troy better than LSU? It was a great win for LSU and shows we can compete with top teams but the idea that UGA isn’t a better program at the moment or doesn’t have better talent because we beat them last year is absurd

What 3 teams from the west were undeniably better than UGA in 2017? Bama UGA was a toss up and Auburn/UGA split beat downs. UGA curbstomped the third best team 31-3. UGA took a step back in 2018, but still was within 7 points of Bama. If there was that much separation between the west and UGA then UGA should be getting stomped in the SECC which isn't happening. I don't think there's much separation between LSU and UGA. The only reason UGA gets more hype is due to recent success and how they play bama. If LSU was only losing 1 close game a year to Bama then they'd be playoff bound and getting just as much hype as Bama/UGA

Putting LSU’s lost to Troy on the same level as LSU’s win against Georgia is laughable. You are not going to convince me that Georgia came into BR flat. They were highly ranked in one of the toughest stadiums to play and an SEC opponent they do not play every year. If it was Alabama, the way we have lost to them recently, I would believe it. But we got everything Georgia had and we gave them everything we had. And we beat their arse. Georgia came in flat against Texas but they wanted that win in BR. To say we have slipped behind them on the field is just not true. If anything, the head to head matchup shows just the opposite. To say we have slipped behind them in recruiting rankings is believable though.

UGA objectively performed better on the field throughout the season except for 2 games. They weren't as lucky as we were to have a cupcake bowl game (that we nearly lost).

I assume you meant "wasn't", but LSU was up by 10 points with 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

It should've been worse, but we can't score in the red zone

PAC 12 may actually be stronger this year than the ACC.

An L is an L, by 3 or 30. If they had to play in the West, they would be like everyone else in the West and wear down. Yes that includes Bama.....(See last year's NCG)

Also remember that Nicholls State lost by 2 to UGA in Athens. Nicholls would have won if they had not subbed the QB on one play, a fumble by the QB who played that one play returned for a TD.

You DO realize that the SECCG is the week after the Iron Bowl, don’t you? After big emotional rivalry games there is a natural tendency for a let down. Ever wonder why Arkansas was beating LSU the week after LSU-Bama even when they weren’t nearly as good as LSU?

Which means absolutely NOTHING.
