When 1st reported they were thought to be slim but this is his 2nd trip to LSU so he's at least more interested than 1st thought.

If we do put him as a FB, I see him being the next in line of great FB we have had here from Quinn to Stampley to now Copeland. All three just looking to blow someone up

FYI...Eric is well connected when it comes to recruiting in the Houston area.

Eric Nahlin ? @EricNahlin

LSU "laid it on thick" for Reggie Chevis but he didn't commit. Aggies are leading this one.

Somebody close to him told me. LSU would be in better position if the offer was as a LBer.

He's the self-professed leader of AggSwagg 2013.

A season of SEC football might put a bit of a dent into the agg-swag movement.

Sumlin will get alot of Texas recruits.

I don't know about his coaching, but with a good staff, he could be overcome, like Miles.

I don't think we'll be comfortable with Sumlin on one side and Crimson Dwarf on the other.....

Our young turks had better get ready for recruiting wars....

As per our current commitments, it does not seem that we are commitments from the cream of the crop, so far. It is normal, I know, that the top kids will play it out. However, Texas and Alabama ONLY HAVE TAKEN COMMITMENTS FROM THE CREME DE LA CREME. LSU is struggling, IMHO

Yeah, Bama is only taking commits from top of line guys, like Louisiana recruits without an lsu offer.

Quinn is a great comparison for him. If you read his article on tigerbait he really enjoys blocking and punishing LB's.

At this point I don't really see him going to LSU.

He has joined the Aggie group on facebook and tells the 2012 a&m guys to watch him while he goes to work.

Wasn't Corey Thompson and Bralon Addison doing the same thing last year?

The catching point is the offer being at FB. If it was at MLB then we'd probably land him. Personally I agree with the FB offer and not LB. Not a fan of him as a LB in our system. Think Claiborne is a superior MLB for our system. Melvin Jones fits better overall because he has the versatility to play DL as well. If Chevis doesn't want to play FB then I'll be happy to miss on him. We'll find someone else to play FB.

I like Chevis a lot a LB, I think he has some serious potential. That said, I think both Claiborne and Mevlin Jones are better. Would really like TAMU to land Chevis and one of either Claiborne or Jones. At what point does LSU move on either of those two?

Man I hope we get Melvin Jones. I really think he is going to be very good. Love his size. He would be a monster after a year or two being trained by Moffit

Sure, and Thomas Johnson was hookin' 'em, DeVante Harris was all about the Sooners, and Edward Pope was a Frog.

Things change as we're well aware. What we're saying is that right now, he's a heavy Aggie lean.

Hey, if we get another top 15 class, it's whatever. After the gut-wrenching 2011 season, it is what it is.

We'll probably not move on Claiborne until summer at the earliest when he camps. As for Jones summer is likely as well when they can get him in camp and work him out but I could also see him getting offered in the spring if his coaches put him on defense more in practice while our coaches are evaluating him. The way it's looking we're not likely to take both.
