When you add this 3rd ranked class Orgeron recruited with the LSU players he recruited to return another season, it has to be considered Orgeron’s best ever. He’s not only got super stars signed, he’s got super stars returning along the Dline and Oline. And a spring QB battle that will be epic. LSU will be a contender for the playoffs in 2021, Leigh and others need to join the party.

Doesn't matter if O keeps hiring coaches from the Mesozoic era

The class is light where it matters: OL and DL

100% kudos to him for getting players to buy back in, but he needs more flame for burning so much cash with two terrible hires. Worst hires in all of CFB in 2020 to be honest. It's mind boggling too after winning a national championship with the influx of cash he had.

It matters when you produce the greatest college football season ever. That didn’t happen by chance, Orgeron took the gambles to produce it, and will do so again. Just takes balls twice the size of Les Miles’ .

It’s a top 3 class even without that, which is damn impressive, recruiting LSU’s top DL and OL to return makes LSU a contender. And O still has time to add DL and OL players.

OL isn’t don’t yet and we need at least 1 more or I agree With you.

DL isn’t bad. We are taking some really good DEs. And Maason is a monster. We took 3 good DTs last year. We can’t go many years with 1 DT but I would Still argue the DL class is strong.

That group is impressive, I think he’s talking about LSU only signing one offensive and defensive tackle in this class. I expect Orgeron to add at least one more for each through signing or transfers.

I think We’re probably done on DL. We need to get OL and honestly another Cb wouldn’t hurt.

just as it was on day one of the job for Coach O, it all depends on who he hires as his coordinators...

This is where class ratings can be flawed when they are based solely on star talent. Remember Curley Hallman’s #1 class packed with 5 highly rated running backs?

Not saying this is a bad class at all, it’s a really fine class. We need to finish it out including a couple more OL, a position of need.

Such a dumb rant meme. Coaches fail,it happens. Their age has nothing to do with it.

Pelini was a complete failure. He’s like 52. That’s prime coaching age, imo.

This.

Next year, we will have the following guys on DL with 4 years of eligibility:

DT - Jaquelin Roy*
DT - Jacobian Guillory*
DT - Eric Taylor*
DT - Maason Smith
DE - BJ Ojulari*
DE - Landon Jackson
DE - Bryce Langston
DE - Saivion Jones (maybe)

The ones with a * will be draft eligible after the 2022 season. The rest will be draft eligible after the 2023 season. All of these guys are, at a minimum, 4-star top 300 players. 6 of the 8 are top 150 players.

That’s a damn good DL haul over 2 cycles. And while I would have liked to get another DT in this class, DE was a much more pressing need.

Elite DE’s are the group that create the most havoc and turnovers for passing teams. It’s that way for college and pro trans.
