Plays through a Chop Block as a defensive lineman at :49, gets up and bats the pass.

He's certainly got the frame, athleticism, and mean streak to be a top notch LT.
Really hope he keeps his head on straight and realizes his potential.

Solid athlete. Going to be really good for us if he can qualify.

Yea. Seems very versatile and he is probably a redshirt while he finds his position.

Think of this line in 2 or 3 years:
Parker
Hines
Cush/Smith/Turner
Thomas
Rosenthal
That is a BIG and athletic line.

Seems as though I am always on here reading about folks being sick of taking recruits as tackle prospects and it being a project.....obviously I have never watched his film until now.....am I missing something?
Most all of his highlights we see him lined up at TE/HB/or split out. I never saw him down in 3 point stance and block against an edge rusher off the ball. Sooo why is it assumed he is going to be some stud OT and not a project (could be a project and be a stud which is great).
I realize he has the frame...but is this not a project OT as well?

What I see is not only frame, but athleticism, ability to get his hips low and drive through blocks, long arms, and very good strength. He also clearly has a mean streak.
If he learns some basic technique and puts on about 20-30 lbs (not hard with that frame), he should be a very solid OT.
ETA:
Plus you routinely see OT's in a stand up stance and not have their hand in the dirt:

The assumption is the fact that he is 6'4 280 and is athletic enough to play TE and even lineup split out and not look out of place.
Sure he could never pan out but the tools are all there.

agreed he can definitely become an outstanding OT, just curious why many just assume he is our next OT when technically he will be a project and many of those same people bitch about us not recruiting a "true OT that isn't a project".
I hope we get him and turns out great, just never realized he played very little, if no OT in high school? Was surprising giving all the praises on him.

I'm a big fan of Rosenthal, saw him in HS and I'll I could think was start getting him ready for the NFL as a OT.

And I say he's got a future at OT because of the physical attributes combined with the mentality. Yes- the technical, S&C, and drive/want is still TBD. But when you start with the right tools, it's less of a leap.
And when I say future OT, I'm thinking making a big splash in 3 years. It'll take two for the learning of the position and getting his body right.

agreed you see them in a stand up stance, especially in a hurry up offense or RPO situation.....but you dont see them as often in a stand up stance when running play action and trying to sell the run....which is (or has been) a mainstay in our offense even with SE.

Well, RPO is our future apparently. That is Joe Brady's specialty.
