quote from tigerbait.

"I've been getting a lot of mail from them but nothing more," Rasco said. "I hadn't heard from an LSU coach since Week 3 (early September) and my mom's the one that told me coach McCarthy wasn't working there anymore."

Is this because the coaches are more focused on this year's class right now? I know a little about recuiting but not enough to know why we wouldn't keep in contact with him

Just stupidity on their part. Texas is our only, but very tough, competition for him.

Does anyone realize it is 14 months before he can officially sign? I'd imagine that LSU is keeping in touch but not wanting to be in touch too much. Once this class is done I'm sure they will begin to turn up the heat. If Rasco wants to come to LSU he can. And I'm sure the staff would take him in a heartbeat. jmho

I would think as big of a recruit he is, we don't lose contact with him for a whole season

Unless he's ready to end his recruitment soon, I don't see this as a big deal. I highly doubt the coaches are not recruiting him at all.

I got it from bhlem on Tigerforums. He is very reliable.

It is pretty simple all coaches have to wait to be cleared to Recruit and Coach. They are usually cleared to recruit first. Coaching takes a little more time. I don't know if Gonz has been cleared for either yet though.

He attended a few A&M games this year and his 2010 teammate, Brandon Jackson, should be at A&M next year... I think he's also friends with Fobbs, who will also likely be at A&M next year. Not really saying Rasco to A&M is likely at all, but sayin they are somewhat competition for him.
