Prediction for 2022 class

With eight (8) remaining spots in the 2022 cycle, I like LSU's chances for a strong finish by signing the following six (6) guys (5 HS kids & 1 txfr.) and holding on to two (2) scholarships for post-spring transfers:
(1) Jarrick Bernard-Converse (CB - OK St.) - this one sounds like a done deal, with an announcement expected any day now. The Oklahoma St. transfer will have one (1) more year of eligibility and is expected to be enrolled and available for spring practices.
(2) Jacoby Mathews (S - Ponchatoula, LA) - since taking over as LSU's recruiting coordinator, Frank's been on JM & T. Citizen as hard as anyone on the board. Really feels like LSU has been gaining momentum w/ J. Mathews for the last 3-4 weeks, and having his OV the last weekend b4 signing day is the perfect setup for BK/FW to close this one out.
(3) TreVonte Citizen (RB - Lake Charles, LA) - there's no question that LSU lost ground here as a result of Kevin Faulk's departure. However, there is also nothing ambiguous about the priority placed on Citizen by BK/FW. They've remained consistent in their pursuit, and last weekend's OV sounds like it solidified LSU's position as a top contender. I just trust in Frank Wilson to win this one come signing day.
(4) Danny Lewis (TE - New Iberia, LA) - Bama's late offer & UF's hiring of C. Raymond have caused concern, but there are numerous factors favoring the Tigers for D. Lewis. For starters, it's no secret that DL coveted the LSU offer, and I don't believe the timing of that offer and his simultaneous decommitment from Cincinnati was a coincidence. Furthermore, he had a pre-existing relationship w/ Denbrock, and BK has personally visited Lewis recently to punctuate their message of him being a priority for this class.
(5) Caleb Douglas (WR - Missouri City, TX) - it's clear that BK wants to add another WR, and this kid is pretty impressive to me. They offered just the other day, and Cortez Hankton visited Douglas at his school late last week. CD will make an OV this weekend, and he also unofficially visited BR for the Texas 8&4 game back in late November. Florida is a serious contender here, but I like LSU's chances to win out.
(6) Harold Perkins (LB - Cypress, TX) - while this one has been wild, its worth noting that Perkins has always been interested in LSU. So much so, that he visited LSU three (3) or four (4) seperate times during the summer and fall of 2021. Moreover, HP even worked out at one (1) of LSU's summer camps - which is a relatively rare occurrence for an OOS 5* kid. Admittedly, it may be a little bit of "wishful thinking" to include him on this list. However, I believe LSU has a better shot than Florida - assuming Gordon & Co. make a competitive NIL offer. We need to move past whatever comments have been made in prior interviews, and welcome this kid w/ open arms (should we be so lucky as to secure his signature) - he's a game-changing talent w/ genuine interest in LSU!

This is nowhere near reality.
You have us batting 100% on 4 high level targets in which none are close to a slam dunk.
If we get 2, we came out smelling like roses.

I disagree with you, but understand/respect your take.

I think we are just used to getting played with the old staff, but this time might be different since we actually have competent coaches now.

Lewis, Bernard, citizen and Matthew’s are from Louisiana and 2 were previously committed. I’m not pumping sunshine here but that’s not really a reach to say we land those guys. Perkins is the most unlikely but things seem to be coming back around toward LSU. I think Bernard is likely as well.

I'm with you. I don't see how this take was so farfetched. Danny Lewis and JBK seems like they are all LSU which just leaves, citizen, matthews, perkins, and douglas. Perkins is the only one i'm skeptical about, but the fact we dong an in-home visit soon and then he's visiting us this weekend bodes well. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but definitely not impossible.

The only one I DONT feel pretty good about landing is Perkins.... and I think we have about as good a shot as TAMU and UF....
So I dont see how this is "nowhere near reality"

Are we really going to have 7 Rb on the roster?
Can we spend two of those on LB and DB?

100% agree with y’all on Perkins - He is going to be the toughest to reel in.
Besides HP, I am also a little bit skeptical about Citizen, as it sounds like Cadillac Williams (from Auburn) has built a strong relationship there.
Beyond that l, I feel as good as one can about JBC, Jacoby Mathews, Danny Lewis, & Caleb Douglas.

I believe they would take seven (7) RBs, as I’m thinking they are probably anticipating a transfer or two following spring practice….

You don't pass up on Citizen because you have 2 or 3 other warm bodies in that position. You tell the others to find another place, which is more simple now with the transfer portal

Hell, from your reasoning and latest info I would have to feel surprised if we don't pull all but maybe Douglas because of Florida/Corey.
Amazing to me that the new staff & mentality is flat out showing blooms this fast.

No doubt.
One thing I’m starting to hear is that A&M over promised NIL deals to some kids, and they are not delivering funds promised or in some cases not even taking phone calls to which recruits were directed.
Not exactly sure that’s what happen with Perkins, but something A&M did definitely rubbed him the wrong way - directly leading to his decommitment.
Either way, got a love hearing that!!!

quote:Wit chu on that JJ. Does it not surprise you that the staff - according to all reports (and 369's reasoning) - has a shot to kill it this class with 4 or more of these dudes?
If we get 2, we came out smelling like roses.

Are they saying which kids?
Didn't they already sign?

Jacoby Mathews is one that I heard was given a number to call for which no one answered or responded.
Not sure of the names for others…
