Recruiting the defensive side of the ball should be a piece of cake this year. We just won a natty, sent a record number of players to the NFL, and there’s clearly playing time up for grabs at all levels of this defense. Whose next to commit to the boot?!

Losing Kelvin Joseph and Marcel Brooks is a big reason for this season's defensive woes. Add the opt out of Vincent made it even worse. Clark is much slower than Brooks and that has been obvious with Rbs beating him around the edge and inability to be OTs with a speed rush to get to the QB. Joseph would be a much better CB2 option than true freshman Ricks. We also won a natty with a different DC and a OC assistant that found jobs easily. You cant say the same thing for Bo. If we were to fire him today, he would be a D2 coach at best. We flopped on that coaching hire. I would not be surprised if we lost out of all of the remaining recruits due to the lack of coaching being so obvious on both sides of the ball. Pure talent is what kept our 2 losses close, but the inability to coach that talent is why we lost. 4 plays from the 1 and we don't line up in I formation with Carter leading the way still puzzles me. Recruits are not playing for the defending national championship coaching staff, they'd be playing for a monumental letdown of a staff that has proven they CANNOT coach. LSU will be lucky if recruits don't start decommitting and going elsewhere, because if I was them, I sure would.

Ricks isn't the reason we are losing.
It's the other cbs having to play so much, like Jay ward

That was 2020. In 2021 we are returning a very veteran team.

Still gotta be playing time, development, and possible championships as far as priorities for these kids.

Last years defense gave up 623 yards to Ole Miss. over 600 to Bama. And 38points to Vandy.

Crappy defense is not new at LSU. So it is not Pelini.

We appeared to have recruited well enough to move forward on the line of scrimmage. Apparently not yet.

There are indications that some of the freshman linebackers are going to get a shot.

2021 was always the year anyway.

Look at what Miss St has done since killing LSU. 0-3! You're trying to tell me that Arkansas has better defensive players than LSU?? Laughable! But they are better coached. Bo played man coverage the entire game and didn't change his scheme at halftime. That is also on Coach O. He has to make sure adjustments are made when your defense gave up 400 yards in the first half. We were up by 28 points vs Vandy when we fumbled into the endzone at the end of the 1st half then let the 2nd and 3rd string players play a majority of the 2nd half. LSU didn't "block out the noise" this off season and that has shown since the season started. We are still struggling to get to the QB even with the change to 4-3. Horrible coaching.Bo should've never been hired and the sooner he is fired, the sooner LSU can start talking about a legitimate run to the CFBP. Until then, we are middle of the pack at best.

To be honest, with the way players are declaring nowadays, getting to come in and receive immediate playing time is not a selling point anymore, it’s expected. We shouldn’t lean on that as a recruiting tactic anymore

losing Shelvin wasnt good either... thats alot of losses...

imagine shelvin trying to be blocked 1 on 1 with Joesph at CB and Kary at nickel and Brooks playing OLB... still cant believe Brooks was so adamant about playing safety... dude could bulk up and make millions in the NFL playing LB.. would be a Deion Jones clone...
