Not too familiar with Shand, DL commit, a couple years left. Pretty good, SEC ready?

Was a good player at Arizona. Has the size to play inside and is athletic enough to play outside and set the edge. Not a particularly explosive player but solid and versatile.

Why were people suggesting we wouldn’t take Shan’s and Lee?

I think he’ll be a rotational guy and start immediately. If Lee busts his butt then he can get some reps in the middle. I just think he wasn’t happy at Florida and it may have affected him. If he comes back to LSU with a new drive then I think he can also be in that rotation. This is exactly what LSU needed though, big, long DLman who will put up a wall in the middle. Let the edge guys and LB rush the QB while they collapse the pocket and get to the QB that way.
We need 2 more from the portal and I hope we can flip another HS top 15 DT or DE. That’s would be perfect. Then you hit the DL recruiting hard for 2024! Id like to see us getting 3 to 4 top 15 HS DL and then maybe 1 or 2 guys we can develop. But if we see a chance to get 1 or 2 out the portal that we think would fit our scheme then you get them also. We’re pretty thin at this position right now. Glad to see them filling it! We need like 12 to 15 DLman and OL on roster every year. That’s not even counting the rush LB or DEs.
