I love watching blowouts bc we get to see some of our freshmen get to play more. We get to see the future. So I actually got a lot out of that 4th quarter at Tulane.

One player I was very impressed with was Chase Clement. He was beating the left tackle every play on the last drive, showing both above average burst and ability to turn the corner. I think he has a chance to start his last two years here bc he showed more pass rush in that last drive than Aghayere has all season. Two years from now, I think we have a great DE rotation with Lavar Edwards (who keeps getting better and better, and is going to be a really good player) starting at one end, either Clement or Montgomery at the other end, and Aghayere as the 4th DE. And then Maclin and Jordan Allen backing those four up. If we get Ego Ferguson, he may move to DT by then.

And on the OL in that last drive, I finally saw why I liked Miles' recruiting there. Lonergan is simply more talented than T-Bob, he had more pancakes in that drive than Hebert has all year. And Alex Hurst was extremely impressive as well, showing both good athleticism and drive off the ball. He was a steal out of Tennessee.

So the future of our OL is much better than the present IMO. If, Miles starts Lonergan over T-Bob next year. And, if we move Dworacyzk to OT instead of slow feet Barksdale.

But I certainly love what I saw of those linemen in the 2008 recruiting class in those last couple of drives.

Agree. We can't run up the middle because the center-guard splits are extra tight to compensate for weak play at center.

I noticed #98 out there. I thought...well that used to be Sidell Corley's number, but he's gone, so who is it?

I had to look it up. Turns out he is a walk-on from MS named Dennis Johnson.

He is a big ole boy, too. Whatever...I guess they didn't want to burn the redshirt on Davenport or Hicks.

Also, I noticed both St. Julien and Bryant lined up at safety on the last drive rather than corner. I guess they are safeties now?

Finally, Kyle Prater played as did John Williams. That is the first time I recall seeing either of those guys out there.

With his size, how could you not notice him? His listing of 278 lbs. has got to be one of the biggest lies on our roster. The dude could do Nutrisystem for a month and still weigh more than that.

Yeah you're right Louie, Miles is so dumb that he would rather play a guy that isn't as good as another guy at one of the most important positions on the field because of this guy's dad who he has absolutely no connection to and wasn't in Louisiana before coming to LSU. WOW! You are really smart, i'll bet you think that Miles is playing Jefferson over Lee because he doesn't want to appear racist dont' you? It always amazes me what some poeple will say on these message boards, maybe he looked better because he was going up against the 2nd string defense that was just wanting to get the game over with, but no you are probably right, Miles is just playing T-Bob because of his dad, MIles just wants to lose

Up until the Tulane scrimmage, the running game was abysmal. It did not improve week to week, and it adversely affected other aspects of the offense. Miles didn't play other OLmen even though they could not have done any worse. Maybe he's dodged bullit, and the team will run the table. But he was lucky not to lose at MSU and UGA, we never pressed UF, and the backups have gotten minimal experience. Blackwell, Hurst, and Lonergan aren't just out of high school, and they should have been getting meaningful reps in all of the games. I think Miles is doing a good job bringing around Randle and Shepard slowly, but the OLine has not been held accountable for underperforming.

T-Bob never dominated even ULL's backups. Or Tulane's backups that were in before that last drive. He got dominated by ULL's starters, and Vandy's. It just wasn't hard to see that Lonergan is a more talented player, based on how big and physical he was playing.

Again, check the splits Saturday. Hitt and Dw___ will be rubbing shoulders with Hebert to keep Cody from disrupting the play. No chance of running up the middle, and the red zone offense will need to be extra creative (and risky).

so you don't think michael jordan's son won't be more apt to get more playing time even though he has no connection to the university?

I thought he redshirted his first year. Well, at least I remember being glad that he redshirted. Maybe i'm wrong, but doesn't he have three years of eligibility left? Or were you saying that there's no way he starts or plays much next year?

my understanding is T-Bob is starting because PJ had issues snapping the ball in the shotgun in fall camp...but I could be wrong, it may be one of those sinister, bbq, conspiracy type deals
