Until O realizes that the trenches are the key to winning NCs, he can recruit all the stud DBs/WRs he wants and it won't make a difference. LSU will continue to finish second in the West to Alabama.

If your QB doesn't have enough time to pass or your running backs don't have holes to hit then you're going to lose some games. Got to have a top-tier OL every year! If your DL can't pressure/sack the QB or stop the run consistently, then you're going to continue to lose to the elite teams.

At this point, we shouldn't have just one OL signed. We have a few more spots that O said he wants to fill most with OL, but we need to have these guys already signed. Alabama already has 3 of the top 10 OL in the country signed and another OL ranked 30th. Defensively, Alabama has two of the top 7 DL signed!

If you want to know how Alabama wins NCs consistently, just look at the talent in the trenches on both sides of the ball and you will find your answer!

We need to make OL/DL a top priority every year, not an afterthought!

2019 LSU Tigers. Greatest team of all time. How many 1st or second round linemen? 0.

That's my point! And this year we sucked on the OL/DL! We finished 5-5 and lost to Missouri and MSU!

It's not the strategy; it's the execution.

The idea that they don’t make those positions a priority is lol

I agree with the original poster 200 percent . Bama builds from inside out not outside in . The lines attract great players, how in the hell you only sign one OL at this stage of recruiting.

you really think they don't already know this? You think they aren't already going all out for the best OL's they can get? For some reason it just seems a lot harder to get any to come to LSU.

Why do you think recruiting OL and other players are mutually exclusive?

Also, let me ask this. You have an offense that is scoring 40ish a game and a defense that is giving up 40ish a game. Where do you think the problem is?

We would be 8-2 with the team we have if we just could have held teams to <30 ppg. We gave up 500 ypg in 6 games and 600 ypg in 3 games this season. Where do you think the problem is?

How many are starters in the NFL? 3.

D Lew
Saddiq beat out the starter but got hurt in his 1st start and is on IR. Still a starter tho.

Since he’s been head coach 42-12 w/National Title

Recruiting Class finish according to (247)
2017- 7th (signed 4 lineman)
2018- 15th (signed 6 lineman) + A transfer named Joe Burrow
2019- 5th (signed 4 lineman) (Natl Champions)
2020- 4th (signed 3 lineman) + Transfer
2021- Currently 3rd (signed 1 lineman) not good but not done (Leigh & Harvard Transfer which would give us 3 lineman)

Yes we could be better but it’s not been as bad as you think.

I will just say this:

You need a minimum of 15 scholarships on the OL.

I've said why, too many times.

I seriously think 16 is the target.

You are an idiot because you just made the case for the OP.

Sure we won the Natty and greatest team ever in 2019....

What did we do in 2020- shite the bed
What did we do in 2018- Nothing
What did we do in 2017- Nothing
What did we do in 2016- Nothing and fired our coach
What did we do in 2015- Nothing
What did we do in 2014- Nothing

Bama National titles (5)- seasons- 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017 and played in 2016 season final (Clemson won) and played in the 2018 season final (Clemson won)

So, Bama played in 7 Championship games in 11 years....uh that is where I want LSU to be, and the OP is saying the only way we can be that dominant is to recruit better on both OL and DL.

And you stuck your dick in your mouth by saying we had 0 (ZERO) 1st or 2nd rounders when we won in 2019 (you made his point valid)... Sure, and that's why we went 5-5 after 2019 and lost to Mizzo and Miss State and barely got by Arkansas, etc... or why we sucked the years prior to 2019.

So we have 20 recruits and only one OL. You think that's making OL/DL a priority? I guess in your eyes, if we get a three-star OL we will have hit the jackpot. I'm talking about recruiting a totally different caliber OL that will be with us for three years and get drafted in the first round of the NFL draft!

There aren’t a ton of OL out there

They can be a priority & you can still strike out

What is hard to understand

QB is actually the most important position followed by the trenches. We are in good shape at QB and DL. We will still sign 3 more good OL to go with Dellinger.

Damn captain 9bvious wrote this post. Ed has been sayijg this for 3 years. His 18, 19, and 20 classes were all geared to that. OL has lagged behind for sure but it certainly is their priority.
