No LOI's from Texas players?

I'm not saying it's a bad or good thing; I just don't remember that happening for a while.
We always seem to pick up one or two good ones from either east Texas, Dallas or the Houston area such as a Russell Shepard, Craig Loston, Jalen Mills or James Hairston, or going back a ways, a Matt Flynn or Brandon LaFell.

Well we had adam taylor if we wanted him but rb was not a position of need. Next year we will pull several so I am not too worried.

It was a really down year for texas recruiting. aside from a few guys, not a banner year. Look at UT's pitiful class.

I almost wish we could get a sticky that we got a Texas player in this class, he just happens to be an early enrollee that went to school in Nebraska for a few months after he committed to them.

It's a down year for TX talent, we didn't hit the state hard at all. Parker we lost to A&M, RSJ as well. Other than that, we didn't go after anyone from TX hard at all. In fact when Parker left for A&M we didn't even bother to recruit him after that.
In 2014 we will sign a monster TX class, including the states top 2 prospects in Paris and Brown.

Very good point. I had not thought of that angle. I guess we can see how A&M does to validate that theory.
I'm not worried, just as another poster said, it's just in the back of my mind that with A&M entering the SEC, will LSU's conference recruiting advantage be negated somewhat, at least temporarily?

A&M sucked up most of TXs elite kids this year, but the depth of the state this year is pretty bad compared to other years. What put A&M's class over the top was some out of state guys like Williams, LaRue, Sander and Ellis. That's 4 4-star kids from out of state they got.
Texas meanwhile managed just 2 total out of state pulls and only 1 was 4-star. Also didn't do as well in TX as A&M.

RSJ and Parker, other than that, we didn't recruit anyone really extensively. I dont know if we really kept in contact with any TX kid in the last month. Maybe RSJ just to see if he would flip.
