Mekhi Wingo, what’s the latest?

0What’s the latest y’all are hearing on Mekhi Wingo? I saw where Steeples coached him in HS, and there was a lot of smoke about him coming here kind of like Brooks, and Foucha.
I looked at the Transfer Portal Rankings and Mekhi Wingo is 10th overall! I didn’t realize how good he really is. We need to land him. He would be here for more than depth. 27 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack, 1 INT, TD as a true freshman. Dude is a player. Our transfer class will be absurd. What’s the latest y’all have heard on him? Is he ours to lose?

Our guys our saying he had a really good visit, I’m sure Coach Cain and Steeples were on him. He’s likely leaning LSU right now.

Absolutely! I hope Gaye decides to return (good for him & the program), and I wouldn't be surprised if we still added another DE via the portal. Q. Wiggins could also make an impact on passing downs this season.
A strong DL, especially on passing downs, immensely helps our DB's which is also coming together nicely.
