I spoke with Coach Jamie Kohl this morning here in Orlando. He is putting on a camp for uncommitted seniors and elite underclass men.

He told me McMahon called him yesterday to expand our kicker recruiting for 2019. We have an offer out to 2019 kicker Will Reichard for over a year and Oklahoma offered him 6 months ago. Reichard is from Alabama and Bama also just called Coach Jamie regarding the best prospects to recruit.

So Jamie told me McMahon is hedging bets and is setting up visits with the top 5 kickers for 2019. Right now those are:

Cade York - Texas
Michael Lantz - Ga
Ryan Sanborn - Ca
Will Reichard - Al
Caden Davis - Tx ( current ATM commit)

I like the aggressive approach in making sure we do not get caught with our pants down.

because last season we lost 2 games that could have been won if our FGs were made. 9-4 vs 11-2. Is that worth a 1 year recruit spot? I know my answer.

You also probably won the auburn because the kicker made kicks, and you won Florida because the gators kicker missed.

Still working on that waiver. They not giving up.

why is this just happening now? could this part of the process not have happened while he was an analyst?

I don’t think he would’ve been allowed to recruit in such a manner. Perhaps it is happening now because LSU is concerned Bama is gonna get Will. He said Bama just called him about ‘19 so they have decided they do not like their how they are positioned for kickers

which may be true. that being said, i would have imagined that all analysts could convey requests to staff coaches to complete such tasks

would just seem to make sense from the perspective of fully utilizing these analysts positions

better now than never

need to address punting as well

You guys are idiots! Matt didn’t say McMahon wouldn’t recruit. He said 72 year old Sullivan wouldn’t recruit. Pay attention or don’t post.

No inside info here, but I saw someone post in another thread that Chase was super excited that we hired Sullivan.

Moscona may be right that Sullivan won’t do much recruiting, but I’d bet my bottom dollar he’s recruiting his arse off this weekend for these official visits.

He absolutely said McMahon wouldn't recruit. He complained that LSU added two coaches who wouldn't recrui, Sullivan and McMahon. Also, Sullivan is 73, not 72. You're the one who got it all wrong, and you tell others not to post unless they get things right? Classic.

There have been many people who complain that LSU has too many recruiters and not enough real coaches. I think the WR coach was one pointed out? And it does seem like there are plenty people on staff who are good recruiters and it would be nice to have someone that actually "coaches"

I saw a kid from Warner Robbins Ga miss a 59yrd kick short a couple of feet and on the next possession he it from the exact same spot with plenty of room!
