Good. Program was soft as shite on discipline at the end of Miles and Orgeron's entire tenure. It's the reason we have cancer culture. The program was run by the players and they dictated whatever they wanted. frick that. Respect your coach and teammates or get the frick out. Why do you think Saban's program has been so good? His players respect him and will fall on the sword for their coach. They wouldn't dare oppose him. Do you really think Orgeron commanded the respect of his players other than them liking him?

It's called a culture purge. BYE! We needed it. The transfer portal will immediately fill any major losses we have.

I agree with this. Everyone puts it all on Orgeron, but the culture was deteriorating long before he took over. Obviously, he did nothing to fix it and it got significantly worse on his watch, though.

McGlothern is not happy about this btw. He badly wanted to be at LSU and genuinely loves LSU. He had no other choice

Oh he had a choice

Is anyone else worried that this sudden shift to a disciplinarian regime following 2 years of resting-on-laurels O is going to backfire? Starting to sound like why we didn’t want BoB.

I see you’re bleeding all over this thread, too.

The only ones who should be worried are the players who think it’s all about themselves. If a player truly values his team and his future at lsu then he will do whatever is necessary to be a part of it.

Ultimately these coaches are looking out for them and teaching them self discipline, which is vital in life and their future in football if that’s what they want. The NFL doesn’t mess around nor does life. You can either align or be left behind.

These new coaches are professionals and don’t have the time to play with kids. They want grown men playing for them and frankly so does LSU and this fanbase. This is exactly what LSU wants and needs! It’ll make grown men out of boys and for Louisiana kids, that’s the best thing for them. They need real father figures and tough love.

It may be a little shock n aw for the current guys and may cause a little shake up but once that settles and the results come back positive on the field then the new recruits will simply trust what they are doing and follow suit. I hope we have immediate success or at least for the most part. That will make this transition much much faster and success will follow. I’m excited to see what these coaches can do in terms of development more than I’ve been in a very long time!

Habits are developed over long periods of time...they are extremely hard to break. Ed established a culture where there was no accountability. While unfortunate, you were never going to get everyone accustomed to the old guard on board with the new regime

The crazy thing about McGlothern is that 2 months ago his image was one of a hard worker who stepped up when needed and played a a high level. At a time when the heart of others was in question, McGlothern was a guy who just went out there an played hard.

Based on the rumors, it sounds like he was lazy off the field and disrespectful of the coaches and program.

Wherever he plays, the best thing he could do is to humble himself and get back to the kid that just plays hard. I would have loved to have the humble McGlothern on this roster. He looked like he'd be a captain type.

He wasn't transferring to football powerhouses, by any stretch. I thing his moves were just family circumstances.

Left New Caney (Northeast of Kingwood TX) his sophomore year for Trinity Christian Cedar hill (south Dallas). If that sounds familiar, it’s because it was Coach Prime’s school. They also had players from California and Connecticut the same year…there is literally a Maxpreps reality show about it. He left Trinity Christian (which has since been kicked out of their athletic conference) and enrolled at Klein Oak in spring, which is one of the stronger football programs in the Houston metro area.

You're knocking a program that has had much more positive traction the last 2 years than LSU? And you're knocking a hillbilly culture? How is the cajun culture superior to the hillbilly?

McGlothern was given at least 2 warnings about not showing up on time. He continued to be late. On top of this all was some grade issues.

He fought the decision and wanted 1 more chance, but Kelly had enough.

O was not very strict in regard to this so it was a wake up call for everyone.

Shows how serious Kelly is.

If true, I fricking LOVE it

Coach O "talked" about the "LSU standard of performance" in the media, but had no idea how to make it happen consistently.

BK building the culture correctly imo

If this is the case, I think Kelly made a mistake. If the kid was willing to admit he was wrong, and was willing to ask for another chance, it should have been given to him...for all parties involved.

Would you keep an employee if your the new boss and told him TWICE to be on time and he still didn't listen. If you would; you will fail as a boss.
