Garrett supposedly chose UAB over Florida State and Auburn (had offers from both)

Highly recruited guys that ended up at UAB? I just don't get it. I figured they'd end up closer to home, i.e. Illinois, UCF, etc.

ETA: According to UAB's current 2016 commits they're the new Second Chance U.

Good luck to them but man, did they blow it here. It's a shame they had personal issues which prevented them from making it on the big stage.

The way they're hitting the JUCOs, if their coach (who I think is really good) can get them all pulling in the same direction, they may have a squad. The problem is that they seem to be taking everyone else's problems though.

It sounds to me like he is scared of competition. He just can't hack it with the big boys.

It does seem like he doesn't want to complete for a spot.

They gave up on their teammates and Bain didn't put in the work necessary to be reinstated to the team but sure good luck.

Odd that they choose to go to a school that won't even play football until 2017. Maybe they will redshirt next year?

must be promising starting positions or something else to essentially get guys to give up a year of eligibility (redshirt or otherwise)
