Robby Green is a shining example here.

"They told me it was the longest meeting Coach Saban ever had with a recruit," he said. The previous record was an hour and six minutes. He talked to Malichi for an hour and 20 minutes.

Saban has someone on the pay roll hand timing meetings with recruits, now?

Is he trying to gain any kind of advantage with another school? Or is he seriously interested in Bama?

Anyone know with this kid?

If I'm a highly rated wr I don't go to Bama. Julio Jones would have been a Heismen winner at a school like Ok st.

Right I can see the disadvantage of playing WR in Bama's offense.

But Coop and Julio both showed out as frosh. So the potential is there.

What's so funny about Saban's tactics? It works. He's out-recruited everyone in the country consistently.

I'm sure all coaches say that kind of shite.

8 months old, so I'm assuming the statute of limitations has passed.... I'll just leave this here....

quote:

Two of the Pelican State’s best in that group, Westlake (La.) tight end Jacory Washington and New Orleans (La.) Brother Martin offensive guard Will Clapp were in Tuscaloosa on Saturday for the Crimson Tide’s game against Texas A&M. Both have offers from Alabama and in-state LSU.

“Man, it was really nice. The coaches and the staff showed us a lot of love. I talked with Coach Saban for a minute. We joked around and I talked to my recruiting coach, Coach Burton Burns. He told me to keep up the hard work and keep getting better. The game was crazy. The fans were amazing and kept everybody on their toes.”

Washington says he remains open to all suitors.

“All the schools I have come in contact with have the same opportunity. I like them all right now.”

Similar to Washington, Clapp enjoyed his time and was able to interact with Alabama staff members, including a pregame sit down with head coach Nick Saban.

“I had a great day. We went to the practice facility and they walked me over to the team hotel that was right across the street. I got to meet with Coach Burns and we talked to him for a little while about my high school football team and what’s going on in New Orleans.

“I got to go in Coach Saban’s hotel room and meet with him, which was pretty cool. We met for about 20 minutes and he was telling me about the game and what they would need to do to be successful.

“I went down and met with Coach (Jeff) Stoutland. We had a great conversation- he was telling me about the line. Then I met with Coach (Scott) Cochran and he’s like the funniest guy ever. I love Coach Cochran. All the coaches are great guys.”

Clapp also met a few other visitors, including Washington and a top 2013 target.

“I got another tour of the facility and then I got to go on the field. I met some other players like Jacory Washington and Laremy Tunsil. Coach Stoutland introduced Tunsil to me real quick. There were a bunch of people from New Orleans that I recognized. The fans are crazy. They were all getting into it. It was a great atmosphere.”

The LSU legacy has long held the Tigers and Crimson Tide as his top two and that remains the case.

“It’s definitely still LSU and Alabama. Both schools are doing a great job making me feel at home. It’s going to be a tough decision. I’m going to have to think it over with my family and see where I’ll be most comfortable.”

I'm just wondering if we may have a shot at him now, or is he still 95% LSU's?

You are right. Our offense sucks so bad in the passing game it's a wonder we have been able to recruit the guys we have. CLM must bee laying it on thick to them.

I believe there will be a big change in our offense this year. The JJ and Lee years will be a quickly forgotten past.

that was on a gameday though.

I doubt Saban sits down for an hour with recruits before a game.
