Multiple hits today including a home run. Just looking really sharp at the plate this fall. I'm excited to see what she can do this year. She was a highly recruited kid because of her bat.

Meet your 2020 recruiting class! It’s a big one for us!

Alison Newland is playing for a state title right now so couldn’t be here.

This is scary. Because those are 9 very highly rated young ladies. Brown, Newland, Pilon, and Houshmandazeh (sp) will be ready to steal someone’s job. And the rest will too

re: LSU Softball Commitment List/Recruiting Info
Lose Doyle and Andrews next year.

Newland is the real deal, she is very different than Andrews, she is a power hitter but very athletic to track down balls in the outfield.

Pilon typically plays the middle of the infield but it will be interesting to see if they move her around. I think the original plan was to have her play 2B. She is our best recruit and likely be invited to the junior national team tryouts.

18handicap could probably give more info on Brown, as I have only seen her play a handful of times but she is a big power hitting catcher. She hit home runs in all the games I saw her play.

I think Morgan Smith is one to watch as she use to be a top 20 recruit but dealt with some medical problems. She is similar to Sunseri in which she can pitch pretty good but has a monster bat. She chose LSU over Alabama and UCLA. They feel she is one of the biggest steals in the entire class.

You’ll probably see Briggs in CF, Stewart in LF, and Newland in RF. I wanna focus on this upcoming year, but 2021 will be such a talented team. The scrimmages will be like real games.

357... I left BR for Houston early this morning and didn't stay for the fall softball game vs McNeese. Have you heard anything about how we did today?

I was attending a baptism earlier so I couldn't make it.

I was told Pitching struggled a little bit today, bats were good.

They rotated a lot of players again. Freshmen are looking strong, don't have exact stats. Victoria Abrams had another good game. It's encouraging to hear the freshmen are producing every scrimmage. Hopefully the pitchers can take the next step by Spring. Wickersham and Goff pitched today, not sure who else did. Maybe Sunseri.

On robocoach it was said that the tigers lost today 8-10. Pitching had a bad day. They said Goff and Abrams pitches too but Sunseri and Wickersham struggled. Said that they couldn’t put away hitters after two strikes. Offense has been pretty good this fall, but pitching hasn’t been as sharp. Kilponen looked good, and Gorsuch was decent. Pitching has to step up and be better. Hopefully, this was just a bad day for the pitchers.

Thanks to both for info... I've gotten to where I rarely read that site anymore. There are about 3-4 posters there with a vendetta against our team and coaches for some reason, so it feels sometimes like the news is distorted negatively.

I was there, the only pitcher that we expect significant innings from that had a bad day was Wickershame. She struggled throwing strikes and walked too many. Then she groved pitches because she wasn't getting strike calls.

Goff wasn't sharp, but are we really expecting her to pull significant innings.

Abrams pitched 1 inning gave up 1 hit but no runs.

Sunseri pitched very well, she finished the game an I thought she looked really good.

Outfield will be great, but we have to find the right infield combination

I like our outfield a lot with Stewart, Andrews, Briggs.

What was the main infield yesterday? Both the catchers will play all year for sure.

re: LSU Softball Commitment List/Recruiting Info
I think they are just looking for the right combo. Tidwell played 3rd, 2nd, and short yesterday, Pleasants played short most of day. Perkins played 3rd. Doyle also played 3rd. Becca started at 2nd. I thought Tori abrams looked best at 2nd, but it was a limited biew of her

Some of the issues early in game were positioning. I dont ever want to be negative, I just think they will try different combinations until they find the right fit

You aren’t being negative. While talented, the reality is replacing essentially the entire infield will have its growing pains. We went from a senior filled infield to a bunch of freshmen and sophomores who haven’t played together very much.

Curious how many freshmen Torina would throw out at one time. I really like Victoria Abrams a lot and have heard nothing but great things about her so far. I hope she does continue to do well and wins that 2B spot.

I notice they have been moving Tidwell all over the place all fall. Between 2B, SS and 3B. Not sure how I feel about her at 3B.

Thanks again: Do you think having Yvette Girouard around LSU SB is advisable?

This SB fan noted: As long as she was in charge, even with much better resources, Cajuns kept out-competing LSU SB and routinely eliminating us at season’s end, until she left.

She calls events for USL; the field has her name at USL......except for her retirement $’s I always believed she was always ALL USL.

See why I think Gurouard’s hand is on all this?

Torina may not realize the revulsion for Cajun Softball, it is worse than Auburn and Gumoabama Softball.

I know.....am sure...this Girouard never changed her Cajun Peppa Colors!!!

357....what you think??

re: LSU Softball Commitment List/Recruiting Info
He seems to forget how the USL folks led by the Lotief gang excommunicated her when she took the job at LSU. If he was still there, she still probably wouldn't be welcome IMO.

I can attest that she loves LSU, but I also can relate as a coach who changed schools, that there is still a place in my heart for a place that had so many great memories. I don't change my opinion of my former players from a school that I coached at 30 years ago just because we won state at my current school.
