LSU Official gymnastics recruiting thread
2020 Class

Elena Arenas-Georgia Elite

Previous Junior International Elite- Has dropped back down to level 10 to finish off her career before NCAA Gymnastics.

Elena is most noted for her superb vaulting and bar work. She has a high level of difficulty on bars has great technique on this event with a big double layout dismount. Power is coming along which should aid with her development of bigger skills on floor, she performed a double layout as an elite. Consistency is the key to next level on beam at LSU. Projected to be an all around gymnast at LSU with immediate impacts on vault and bars as a freshman

-Finished 9th in the AA in 2017 P&G Championships
- Competed a big DTY as an elite, but is expected to perform a 1 1/2 at LSU
- Choose LSU over Georgia, Alabama, and other SEC/PAC 12 programs

Elena Bars

Haleigh Bryant-Everest

Widely considered one of the best Level 10 gymnasts in the country and a standout all around gymnast who has offers from every major program. She has produced some of the top scores in Level 10 on every apparatus this year. She is a very powerful gymnast but demonstrates great flexibility. Competes a front handspring front pike on vault. She is a standout on floor with high level of difficulty, including a big front double tuck to open her floor. She is an immediate impact on all events when she comes to college.

-2 Time JO Nationa Team Member
-2018 Nastia Liukin Cup AA Winner
- 2017 JO All Around Title Winner

Bryant Floor

Olivia Dunne-ENA Paramus

Senior International Elite with offers from programs such as Florida, Utah, and other major schools. Dunne has dealt with some injuries over the last year due to growth but is expected to compete as an elite until she reaches LSU in 2020. Olivia has a high level of difficulty on bars, beam and floor, although has been selective with skills in competition. She has great technique on bars and zones into having excellent handstands w/ pointed toes. On beam, she is elegant and presents well with nice lines. She has a tendency to miss her position in the air on her leaps at times but is the total package on this event. On floor she performs a double layout, but has recently added a full twist to it in training in preparation for next season. Dunne will be able to impact every event as a true freshmen with her high degree of difficulty and great execution.

-9th in the AA at 2017 JR P&G Championships
-2017 Jesolo Team Gold

Dunne Bars

Emma Kelley-Texas Dreams

Emma is the sister of current LSU gymnast McKenna Kelley and she currently trains at Texas Dreams/Stars Gymnastics. She has dealt with some untimely injuries over the last year or two right as she was trying to go elite. Emma was a high recruited prospect that posses a large arsenal of tumbling skills. She is a standout on vault and floor in particular, with a lot of potential on beam. Kelley has trained a big DTY on vault with great execution in the air. She attempted to qualify as an elite this past summer but barely missed the qualifying score to qualify as a elite. Emma is expected to be an immediate impact at LSU on the leg events due to her power and high level of difficulty.

2021 Class

Aleah Finnegan, GAGE

Aleah is a junior international elite who just finished her first year as an elite with a lot of success. Aleah visited UCLA and other major programs before deciding on LSU last summer. Aleah is a power gymnast but stands out particularly on the beam with smooth execution. She competed with lesser difficulty as a first year elite but expects to present major upgrades as she moves into the senior group next season. She trains a silvas on floor, as well as a big triple twist. On beam she is working on a standing Arabian on beam with an array of different connections and leaps. Aleah stood out a lot last season due to her great execution on vault, beam and floor, earning top execution scores at US Classic and P&G Championships. Aleah's weak point comes on bars where she is still developing.

-2017 JO National Champion in AA
-2018 US Classic- 7th in AA
-JO National Team member

Finnegan Beam

Tori Tatum- Twin City

Tori committed to LSU last summer and is an international elite gymnast and a former US National team member. Vault is one of her best events as well as floor. She is ridiculously talented. She competes a DTY on vault and is clean on this event. Beam is weakest event but continues to improve with experience. Her leaps is what her biggest weakness is. She is an excellent all a rounder and will continue to add upgrades over the course of the next few years as she attempts to make a run at the 2020 olympic team.

-Former US National Team Member
-7th in AA at Junior P&G Championships in 2018
-Gold Medalist on Vault and Silver Medalist on Floor at the 2018 Junior Pan AM games

Tatum Bars

Tatum Vault

2022 Class

Lilly Lippeatt- CGA

One of the top rising juniors in this sport, she is a Junior International Elite out of Lexie Priessman's old gym. She was selected to tryouts for the 2018 PAC Rims this year. Lilly dealt with some injuries down the stretch leading up to nationals that held her back but is expected to make major waves next season as an elite. Beam is a standout event for Lilly, and is one of the top beam workers in the country. Vault remains an event where she will have to grow into due to her nature in size. She has great execution on bars and is able to move well on it despite her height. Lilly is one to watch next season with major upgrades being added to routines.

-2 Time P&G Qualifier
-Invited to PAC RIMS tryout w/ select group of girls

Maggie Musselman LSU is rumored to have some interest. She is another talent out of the elite world. She is extremely tall

Ok, I'm intrigued because I love her lines and her twisting is superb. My question is where has she been? If she's not too beat up, she would be a fantastic add. Also, I wonder when she is going to make a decision seeing as though she would only have a few short months left before the last signing period for her class.

Ok, call me crazy, but is there any way we can get Lizzy back? Two years to compete, and we could definitely use her beam and floor next year.

Wasn't Musselman committed to Oklahoma at one point? If so, what happened there? I would love to add Trinity and Maggie.

I've always felt the addition of Kai AND Trinity would give LSU a 1-2 punch in the all-around that we haven't seen since ACK and Susan Jackson were guaranteed 9.90+ in all four events in 2009, but obviously we have had plenty of phenomenal all-arounders since 09

Tbh I am not sure. I honestly can't confirm that we are actively recruiting her at the moment but I do know LSU had major interest in her before.

LSU is at the top of trinity's list. Trinity is very discreet about her recruitment. LSU very much has a nice shot at her. Now, even if she does commit, not sure if she even reaches campus until after 2020 if she wanted to attempt to make the olympic team

Reagan Campbell is an excellent all arounder, we just need her to be healthy

I posted this on the LSU-Florida thread on the Rant but the threads move so quickly I thought I would try here.
357, how good are the 2019 Oklahoma recruits, Allie Stern and Olivia Trautman?

Allie is an excellent vaulter but isn't really developed or a contributor for anything else as of now.

Olivia is a former elite, I think she is back at level 10 but she is an excellent all arounder. I like her a lot. LSU recruited her. She comes from Nichols gym

With that said, I love our 2019 class and wouldn't trade it with anyone.

Ferrer and Kai both are all arounders that can put up 9.9's on every event. They can both compete high level of difficulty too. Smith is an excellent bars worker. She does need to develop a little more on certain events but she has the talent and ability to be a major contributor on different events

I still can’t believe I’m finding the most and best gymnastics info on Tigerdroppings! Thank you again!

As far as Trinity Thomas committing to LSU #IBelieve #JayClark #Pleasepleaseplease

Do you know if all the turmoil will affect Rivers’ training? I read that her gym is up for sale.

What are the scholarship rules for Gymnastics? What is the cap and do they split scholarships?

So a no go on Lizzy, huh?

I know this is many years down the road, but I'm hopeful Annie Beard will be a Tiger one day, since she is a Louisiana native.

LSU people seem to feel great now as of late with Trinity. She has followed LSU much more closely the last two weeks.

When she will make a decision is still unknown but some close to her say she wants to commit sometime by this summer
