The amount of misses and transfers, etc., we have had is ridiculous.

We desperately need two more decent to good DL and I’ll say it’s a great class.

Wouldn’t mind a prototypical OT either.

Yeah, which is why I'm not going to sit here and base it on recruiting rankings and what not. My point is that a lack of talent along the lines has not been a real issue for the past 5 years, even if it was better previously. My other point - but probably one for the rant and not the recruiting board - is that it doesn't explain away our offensive issues since other teams do well without the same talent.

Here's another stat for you. In the last 5 years, we've only had 4 linemen drafted in the first 3 rounds. The five years before that, we had 8 drafted in rounds 1-3.

I don't care if you ever admit the truth but for the love of God stop using it as a weapon to bludgeon the coaches over the head with.

So we're not as talented as we used to be, but we're still incredibly talented. What's your point?

I think I've made my point pretty clear - this team underperforms it's talent on offense, even if you want to roll with the myth that we lack talent on the OL.

That we haven't been INCREDIBLY talented over the last several years on the lines. That we've missed on a ton of highly rated prospects.

It's all relative I supposed. There are only a handful of teams that have had more guys drafted along the lines.

You're right about the misses though. We've been lucky to have less touted guys step up in most cases though.

Getting a few OL to stay as seniors would be pretty nice too, but that's tough everywhere.

Certain positions I agree.

I've yet to figure out if the line issue is overrated talent or a very poor S&C program. We get pushed all over the field

We do at times. I still think the offensive scheme is mostly to blame. We haven't done a great job putting guys in positions to be successful. Other schools seem to his flaws along the OL much better. See my thread on the MSB, for example.

They're young. Maybe they just weren't ready to be thrown into the fire. I don't think Deculus will ever be athletic enough to play tackle. He looks more suited to be a guard. Charles may pan out. He's shown flashes. Cush will get better. Counting on Rosenthal to take over at left tackle.

I'm sorry but it's just not the main issue. There may be an argument to be made that it's strength and conditioning but I don't see how you can say scheme when the defensive player blows right past you on his way to the QB and you're barely out of your stance. It's not scheme when you're in the 12th game of the season and you still don't know your blocking assignments. There's only so much that you can blame on the coaches. They can't block for you. Block somebody even if it's the wrong person at least you hit somebody.

I wouldn't care if they fired the entire offensive coaching staff. I'm not defending them, because the results have not been there. But the talent on offense is also the worst it's been in probably ten years.

I don't know of a single offensive player that could start for Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, or maybe even Florida. Certainly not for Clemson, Oklahoma or Ohio State.

All our difference makers are on defense, and I don't think that can just be blamed on scheme.

If we didn't land Burrow, I'm not sure we win 7 games.

What's your suggestion and what's wrong with the scheme?

Weak up front and slow RBs are going to limit the offense. You can work around one but not both. There may be something else to do but the options are limited

Recruiting did not decline last year we filled needs very very well. And the transfers were just right.

Online, Dline are the most glaring needs and even O knows that.

LF was the best RB we will see in our lifetimes and our oline got destroyed by Bamas Dline.

Our dline and oline play dropped off dramatically since O was hired.

Our Dline this year has been pretty solid. Bama and UF ran us, that’s about it. Phillips being injured is why UF was successful on the ground.

We had quite a few weak front 7s under Les

As far as OL, it’s the tackle position that is killing us. Ed knew it and signed Traore but obviously the kid hasn’t produced.
