He certainly likes LSU, however he sounds like a kid in a candy store:
quote:

"I am still committed to LSU and I would say I am a strong commitment, but I am still going to take my five [official] visits and explore my options,"

quote:

"Coach McGee (Rivals' Recruiter of the Year) is a great man and he just helped Georgia sign a great recruiting class. Georgia is a very good program, they have had some great running backs and I want to get out and see them now."

quote:

"I love Alabama," said Davis. "I know some of the players, the program is great and they are really high up there for me.

quote:

"I really want to get out there to Oklahoma and see what it is like. They have produced some great backs that have done very well in their offense. They have put running backs into the NFL after three years and that is impressive.

quote:

"It is really all about coach Seider with Penn State," said Davis. "We talk as much or more than I do with any other coach. I like him as a person, he gets guys to the NFL and I want to get up there for a visit.

quote:

"I don't know a lot about Penn State yet, but I know about Saquon Barkley, I know they have had great players and I have heard it like family there, so I want to check it out."
On the positive side....

quote:

"LSU football is all I knew when I was growing up, so I would watch them on television every week. I live right here, so it is like a home for me. I do love LSU.

Hopefully this time, we can close the deal, however he will be pursued by some very persuasive coaches.

Losing Davis would be a serious embarrassment to Coach O and the recruiting staff.

I don't put a lot of stock in talk this far out. You may be able to draw some insight, but these are 17 year old kids.

That being said, if Emery goes OOS as some have suggested, Davis goes elsewhere and Cain doesn't land here, the fans will burn the LSU athletic dept to the ground.

I'm still hoping for 2/3 but who knows at this point.

Anybody else hear Ott and Hanny earlier on Sports Today talking about Derek Stingley Jr. being out last night in Florida gear?
Gonna be a wild recruiting season

Man, if O misses on this 2019 class, we are absolutely fricked in 2 or 3 years down the road.

I just don't know if he can close with some of these elite kids next year. Gonna be a stressful fall and spring with recruiting.

Signing day is only "11.25" months away. Do we have time to turn him?

I'm getting there as well. I was watching Surtain live when he announced his decision to sign with Alabama, I totally lost it!!! Life goes on, but that one hurt bad!!!

First time following recruiting? That's about as generic a recruiting article as they come.
Do not listen to what these kids say, watch what they do
Where do they visit the most?

I think it is smoke and mirrors. He is teammates with Thomas and Thomas is out biggest recruiter right now.

Davis will be a Tiger.

But, as the other poster mentioned above, if we fail to get 2 of the three backs we want and miss out on Sopsher, Lee, Palmer, Parker, etc... this place will figuratively burn.

Actually I follow recruiting religiously. I look for signs in these articles, as do most of you, and sometimes the recruits reveal their leans in the little phrases and comments they say. Unfortunately, after Surtain's visit to Alabama, I saw several signs in the resulting reports that gave me the opinion Surtain was leaning to Bama. For example, his dad said "It's not over". I said sh**t! It unfortunately turned out to be true.

Honestly, I think the local draw to LSU will carry the day for Davis, but you can never count out "Little Nicky"!

If I was a recruit, especially one that lived in Louisiana, I would damn sure take all my visits. Free travel, entertainment and food.

Having a run like they have had with winning titles and all have a way of making players say shite like that. Especially with a former LSU coach there as the puppet master, a steady stream of players that would be at LSU has bought into it with Surtain being the latest. It pisses you off, but the only thing that you can do about it is stop losing to them. Hit the bully in the mouth and become the bully!

I couldn't even SAY these words as a True Tiger.

I have faith in KT to get him here but screw that "love Bama" BS.
