There was over scoring as well at the Florida Auburn meet. Vaults scores were much higher than in comparison to our meet Friday. Lazzari scored a 9.95 on beam with a balance check. But of course not a single peep about it. Hey, everyone keeps hating on LSU, but they keep watching.

Shania Adams and Victoria Nguyen also got credit for their series and should not have.

I think part of the problem with Alyona’s DLO dismount on bars is that she releases too early. She should be letting go of the bar when she’s still going up in the giant. Instead she’s releasing when she’s almost horizontal to the bar, often causing her to go straight out instead of up, then out. If she is going to be whippy/pikey, she needs to release a little later to allow herself time to get the flips in. Now this doesn’t solve the form issues but it would make it easier for her to stick.

Alyona has had major issues with that dismount for years, I think she has tried almost everything with that dismount and it just simply doesnt work. She cannot keep her body in a straight position. She use to do a double front as an elite on floor, so not sure why she couldn't on bars.
Bart and Kathy will be commentating tomorrow. Get ready for routines to get picked at a bunch

I notice Caitlin Smith and Rebecca D'Antonio are down on the roster as only training BB. Is this true? For D'Antonio I don't have so many issues - she is a walk-on and the other event she used to do, VT, now has a lot of depth as all the freshmen train it. But I thought UB was one of Smith's best events.

I see Sarah’s in a boot ! Is it precautionary or is she injured ?? . Hope she’s okay !!

To answer my own question - Sarah posted on tik tok to say it was only precautionary ??

Hopefully I do not be worn out by the time the LSU meet comes on. I am going to attempt to watch Denver vs, Iowa State, Pittsburgh vs. NC State, and Georgia vs. Florida.

I am looking forward to the GA/Florida meet
Will start the meet thread later on
If it gets down to it, who would y'all prefer if we add on to 2022, Sophia Butler or Selena Harris? buzz with Sophie Butler is getting hotter lately.... something to continue to watch.

Can we add both? Lol. But I would prefer either one. Maybe they’ll have two schollys come open

I hope they find a way to make room for both. I also hope Kaytlyn Johnson will be able to come in compete and doesn't turn into a Caitlin Smith part two. This is one thing that I hope the new recruiting rules really help on. We have been so snake bitten the last several years. I hate to say this, but LSU is going to have to recruit better to keep up with Florida.. well not many teams are going to keep up with Florida soon, but I'm sure you get my point.

Potential lineups for tonight:
Vault - no change it looks like
Bars - Dean in instead of Brock
Beam - Bryant in instead of Arenas
Floor - Campbell in instead of Alyona
Still don't really care for most of the lineups but it appears Dunne's ankle is still sore.

Campbell did not warm up her passes well last weekend. Where is Elena or Sierra? They both seemed good to go from 101, and Dean stays in the lineup?

Elena is the first alternate on bars and floor again. Seems Jay is going with the seniors over the freshmen again this meet. But I think that’ll change in the upcoming meets. You can look at the potential lineups on lsusports.net. Select Gymnastics and then search the schedule. The pre meet notes are there for you to look at.

Elena has to be injured. There is no other way Brock is in on bars over her.

I think they use Dean over Brock on bars. That’s what it says later in the notes. Either way, hopefully it’s better than last week.

It just seems weird to me LSU doesn't use Elena on her best event (bars) and we have Bridget leading off again on floor.
I will just hope for the best later.

Pitt has had two gymnasts to go down through two events: one on bars (shoulder) and one on vault (leg). Hopefully both will be okay.

I really don't know why we continue to 2nd guess coaches decisions about lineups.
1st none of us are at practice on a daily basis.....like the coaches do
2nd we don't really know anything for sure about the health or preparedness of any given gymnast.....like the coaches do
3rd they are hired to do the job, we are not. Therefore I will trust them to do their jobs, make informed decisions as that is what they get paid to do.....unlike us

I think we second guess when we nearly lose to a (well-prepared) generally inferior Arkansas team at home. It just seems there is more potential than what those lineups unlocked last week. However, I am hopeful that some of that was just nerves and we will see massive improvement tonight!
